Stolen Satisfaction

He blew a puff of smoke exposing the laser beam trip, one of his favorite security measures and was startled at how close it was to his face.

He chuckled at the possibility of his last heist being his first failure.

He had a lucrative career but he was always haunted by the one that got away and couldn’t rest until he cracked it, so here he was again for another go ‘round.

Naiveté

Demons take many forms.
Former saints join the ranks,
Ranking often higher than original sinners.
Inner darkness takes hold.
Old faith breaks despite the length of time.
I’m no exception, quite the contrary.
Very unsuspecting, I fell victim easily.
Silly mistake but wiser for it.
It would be wise for you to watch out for me now.

Test of Faith

Wind and rain raged on –
Storm tested the bows and faith
Parted clouds by morn
Made way for the sun to shine –
Still puddles reflect day’s grace

To Withstand the Storm

Sunshine after rain –
Cloud shapes traverse blank canvas
Of fall sky and hearts,
Endless possibility
Grows to renew the storm-worn
