01

Information we collect

Koi Peptides collects three categories of personal information.

Information provided directly

Name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address, institutional affiliation, and any peptide sequence or research-use details submitted through forms, quote requests, or customer service correspondence.

Information collected automatically

IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referrer URL, and timestamps. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics only.

Information received from third parties

Payment processors (transaction confirmation), shipping carriers (delivery status), and institutional verification services for wholesale accounts.

02

How we use information

Personal information is used for the following purposes:

  • To process and fulfill orders, including custom synthesis requests
  • To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • To verify research-professional eligibility for restricted compounds
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmations, COA notifications, shipping updates)
  • To maintain site security, prevent fraud, and detect abuse
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations under Canadian federal and provincial law, including the Food and Drugs Act, the Income Tax Act, and applicable export controls under the Export and Import Permits Act

03

Sharing & disclosure

Koi Peptides does not sell personal information.

Personal information is shared only with service providers who help operate the business: payment processors, shipping carriers, the independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited testing laboratory, and IT and email infrastructure providers. Service providers receive only the minimum personal information needed for them to perform their function and are contractually obligated to use that information solely for the agreed-upon purpose.

Cross-border data transfers.

Some service providers used by Koi Peptides are based in the United States or other countries outside Canada. Personal information processed by these providers may be subject to the laws of the country in which they operate, including lawful access requests by foreign government authorities. Koi Peptides selects service providers that maintain protections for personal information comparable to those required under Canadian privacy law, but customers should be aware that information transferred outside Canada may not receive the same legal protection it does within Canada.

Personal information may also be disclosed when required by law (subpoena, court order, or lawful regulatory request from Health Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, the Canada Revenue Agency, or other authorities), or to protect Koi Peptides' rights and the safety of its team.

04

Cookies & analytics

Koi Peptides uses first-party cookies for essential site functions, including cart state, login session, and age and research-use confirmation. A limited set of analytics cookies is used to understand aggregate site usage. Third-party advertising cookies are not used.

Cookies can be disabled through browser settings; some site functions, including cart and login, will not work without them.

Under the Quebec Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), express consent is required for cookies that collect personal information beyond what is necessary for the requested service. A consent banner is presented to Quebec visitors on first visit, and analytics cookies are not activated until consent is given.

05

Data security

All data in transit is protected by TLS encryption. Payment information is processed by PCI-DSS-certified providers and never reaches Koi Peptides' servers in raw form. Account credentials are stored as salted hashes.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affecting personal information is discovered, affected customers will be notified by email, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada will be notified as required under PIPEDA's Breach of Security Safeguards Regulations. Quebec residents will additionally be notified through the procedure set out under Quebec Law 25.
