Answers to the questions we hear most often from research labs, custom-synthesis customers, and first-time orderers. Can't find your question? Email koipeptidescanada.com or call 709-866-7507.
01
How orders are processed, packed, and delivered.
All orders ship from our Canadian fulfillment facility. Canada Post Xpresspost is the default carrier for domestic orders, with Purolator available on request for time-sensitive shipments. International shipping to qualifying research institutions is available by request.
Domestic Canadian orders placed before 2 PM ET, Monday through Friday, ship the same business day. Most customers in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes receive their package within 1 to 2 business days. Western provinces typically receive within 2 to 4 business days.
Canadian orders over $200 CAD ship free via Canada Post Xpresspost. Smaller orders ship for a flat $14.95 CAD. Expedited Purolator and cold-chain options are available at cost.
We ship to qualifying research institutions in the United States, the UK, EU, Australia, and select APAC countries. International orders require an institutional address and may require an end-use declaration. Contact us before placing the order.
Lyophilized peptides are stable at ambient temperature for the duration of standard transit. For long-distance shipments to remote regions, summer routing, or international destinations, we ship with thermal packaging at no charge.
Yes. A Canada Post (or Purolator, if applicable) tracking number is emailed within four hours of release. Most customers track their package directly on the carrier's site.
02
How we verify what's in the vial.
Every released lot is ≥99% pure by reverse-phase HPLC unless otherwise stated on the product page. The actual measured purity for the specific lot is on the COA.
Look up the lot number printed on the vial through the batch portal at koipeptidescanada.com/COA/. Each lot has a public page with the HPLC chromatogram, LC-MS spectrum, and counterion content.
Both. We run internal HPLC and LC-MS on every lot, then send a sample to an independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory for blind retest. Both sets of results are published on the lot page.
A third-party COA means the analytical work was done by a laboratory with no commercial interest in the result. It is the only way to verify that the supplier's internal claims hold up. Koi pays for third-party testing on every lot because that is the right way to operate.
It does not ship. The lot is either re-purified or re-synthesized, and the customer waiting on it receives a notification before any timeline slips. Honest communication beats a quiet rescheduling.
03
Specs, handling, and shelf life.
Lyophilized peptides should be stored at -20 °C in the original sealed vial. Once reconstituted, store aliquots at -80 °C to preserve activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Lyophilized peptides are typically stable for at least 24 months at -20 °C. The exact dating is on the COA, and stability data for the most-ordered compounds are published on the Koi blog.
Sterile bacteriostatic water is suitable for the majority of peptides. Hydrophobic sequences may require a small percentage of acetic acid or DMSO. Each product page lists a recommended reconstitution buffer.
The label shows the net peptide mass. Counterions (acetate, TFA) and residual water can add 5 to 20 percent to the gross weight. The COA reports both net and gross values.

How custom orders work end-to-end.
Email the sequence in single-letter code, required scale, target purity, and any modifications to [email protected]. A scoped quote is returned within one business day.
Linear sequences ≤30 amino acids typically run 10 to 14 business days. Modified or longer sequences run 14 to 21 days. Cyclic and stapled peptides run case-by-case.
N-terminal acetylation, C-terminal amidation, PEGylation, lipidation, phosphorylation, biotinylation, fluorescent labelling (FAM/TAMRA/FITC/Cy3/Cy5), and isotope labelling. Stapled and head-to-tail cyclic peptides are available case-by-case.
Customers are told upfront. If the sequence has a known synthesis-difficulty risk, the chemistry team flags it during the quote stage and proposes an approach (microwave-assisted SPPS, pseudoproline insertion, or fragment condensation).
Yes. Mutual NDAs are signed as a default for any custom synthesis project. Customers can send their standard form or use the Koi template.
05
The legal and ethical side of working with our products.
No. All Koi Peptides products are sold strictly for in vitro research and laboratory use. They are not authorized health products under the Food and Drugs Act, do not carry a Drug Identification Number (DIN), Natural Product Number (NPN), or Homeopathic Drug Number (DIN-HM) issued by Health Canada, and are not drugs, natural health products, supplements, cosmetics, or food. They are not intended for human or veterinary administration.
Customers must be legitimate research professionals: academic researchers, commercial scientists, or institutional buyers. Institutional verification may be requested for orders above defined thresholds or for restricted compounds.
No. Koi is an RUO supplier. For GMP-grade material destined for clinical use, customers should partner with a Health Canada-licensed Drug Establishment (DEL holder) operating under cGMP. Koi will refer customers out rather than misrepresent its scope.
Some peptides are subject to export controls or institutional restrictions. Koi follows Canadian export regulations under the Export and Import Permits Act and the Controlled Goods Program where applicable, and may request end-use documentation for sensitive sequences. International shipments are reviewed against Canada Border Services Agency requirements before dispatch.
06
Payment, terms, and institutional accounts.
Major credit cards, Interac e-Transfer, and wire transfer. Verified institutional buyers can apply for net-30 terms.
Yes. Volume pricing for academic laboratories, CROs, and biotech research teams is available through the wholesale program. Reach out to [email protected].
Absolutely. Add the items to a quote request from any product page, or email us. Quotes are returned within one business day and lock pricing in CAD for 30 days.
If a peptide does not match its COA on independent retest, Koi will replace it or refund the order. Returns of opened vials for unrelated reasons are not accepted, in line with industry standards for research chemicals.
