Technical Nonwoven Components for Footwear Construction

(a) Artificial Leather Substrate

A needle-punched nonwoven fabric is used as a substrate in the production of artificial leather. It provides a fibrous structure and mechanical strength.

(b)Shoe Lining

Nonwoven needle punch fabrics are widely used in shoe linings because of their unique properties that enhance comfort, durability, and performance. Here's how they are applied.

Vamp Lining

Inner lining of the shoe's upper part, providing comfort and structure.

Ping Pong Sheet

A stiffener used in toe puff or heel counter areas for shape retention.

Chemical Sheet

Thermoplastic sheet used for toe puff or heel counter reinforcement.

Heat Activated Sheet

Bonding material activated by heat, used for lamination or reinforcement.

 

Non-wicking Felt

Non-wicking fabric is a textile engineered to resist the capillary action that normally draws moisture into fibers. Non-wicking fabrics prevent water from spreading through the yarns or fibers.

Insole Board

Base layer inside the shoe for support and comfort, often made of cellulose board

Strobel

Acts as the base layer connecting the upper to the sole Soft, flexible, and breathable

Heel Grip
Provides anti-slip support and cushioning at the heel area.

Toe Puff
A reinforcement layer that ensures shape retention and structural strength at the front of the shoe.

Shoe Upper Lining
