About Joos
Power bank sharing is a lifesaver when you're caught with a low battery and no power outlet in sight. It's a convenient service that lets you rent portable chargers while you're out and about, perfect for those moments when your phone decides to die at the worst possible time.
Here's how our power bank sharing works:
- Mobile app: Access our service through the Joos app, which shows you all nearby charging stations and available power banks.
- Renting a power bank: Once you've found a station, just scan the QR code or tap the contactless terminal to rent a power bank for a small fee.
- Charging your devices: Use the power bank to juice up your phone or other gadgets on the go. Our power banks come with multiple cables to fit different devices.
- Returning it: When you're done, drop the power bank off at any Joos station (doesn't have to be where you picked it up).
- Payment: You're only charged for the time you used the power bank, with payment processed seamlessly through the app or terminal.
Joos is Europe's fastest-growing power bank provider, created to solve that universal panic moment when your phone battery dies right when you need it most. Our "charge on the move" solution keeps you connected throughout your day without missing a beat.
In today's world, we rely heavily on our phones, and it can be super frustrating when they run out of juice while you're out enjoying your day. Joos power banks offer an affordable and eco-friendly solution to keep your devices charged so you can stay connected worry-free.
Our power banks are lightweight and compact, perfect for on-the-go charging, and come with built-in cables for all popular devices. Whether you prefer scanning the QR code or tapping to pay, we've made renting and returning quick and hassle-free.
To use Joos, you'll need to be at least 13 years old and have the mental and legal capacity required by your local laws. If you're under 18, make sure you get permission from a parent or guardian first. Just so you know, if you're in this younger group, your parent or guardian might be responsible for your use of our service, in line with local laws.
The Joos app is your personal power bank assistant! It lets you rent a power bank at any of our stations by using the orange scan button to scan the QR code on the left side of the Joos station (above slot 1).
The app also features an interactive map that helps you find the nearest Joos station—just type your location in the search bar and it'll show you all the options nearby.
Absolutely! Joos is a reliable and safe charging solution. Our power banks are designed with safety features and regularly maintained to ensure they're always in top working condition. They're the perfect way to stay charged and connected wherever you go.
Renting a Power Bank
Renting a Joos power bank is super easy! You have two quick options:
Contactless:
- Tap your phone or contactless card on the terminal
- Wait a moment for the holding deposit approval
- Voilà! The Joos Box will release your power bank
QR Code:
- Scan the QR code on the station
- Sign in and set up your payment method
- Click 'Rent Now' and grab the power bank from the slot with the blinking light
That's it! No need to download the app if you don't want to—just scan the QR code on the large screen at any Max station to rent a power bank in about 10 seconds.
The easiest way is to check the Joos app, which includes a map that uses your current location to show all nearby Joos stations. Alternatively, you can type your address into the search box to find stations in any area you're planning to visit.
Our power banks are super versatile and can charge pretty much any mobile device. Each power bank comes integrated with three cables (USB Type-C, Micro-USB, and iPhone cables), so you're covered no matter what phone or device you have.
Our power banks are touch-sensitive and activate with motion. Just give your power bank a little shake or tap, and the level indicators (four dots above the "POWER" label) will light up. Each dot represents 25% charge, so when all four dots are lit, you've got a fully charged power bank ready to go.
Every power bank is charged to 100% before it's released from the station. Once a power bank is returned to any station, it automatically recharges to full capacity before being made available for the next rental.
No worries! You can rent a power bank from any Joos station. Just check the map on the Joos app to find the nearest station with available power banks—there's likely one just around the corner.
Don't worry if this happens! If a power bank doesn't eject when you attempt to rent it, you won't be charged for the transaction. This could be because all the power banks in that station are currently charging and not yet ready for rental, despite the station appearing to have units available.
The best thing to do is check the Joos app for nearby stations. Our app is super helpful as it shows the number of available power banks at each station in real-time. This way, you can quickly find the closest station with ready-to-use power banks and avoid any further delays in getting powered up!
The maximum rental period is 2 days. If you don't return the power bank within this timeframe, you'll be charged the retail price of the power bank (£30), and it becomes yours to keep after this amount is deducted.
On the Go With Your Power Bank
There are 4 dots on the power bank just above the "POWER" label—these are your battery level indicators. Each light represents 25% of charge, so if all four dots are lit up, you've got a full battery. The power bank is touch-sensitive, so just give it a little shake or tap to light up the indicators.
The Joos app makes finding stations super easy! It includes a map that uses your location to show all nearby Joos stations. If you're planning ahead, you can enter any address into the search box to see stations in that area.
Our power banks pack enough juice to fully charge an average smartphone about 1.5 times. However, this can vary depending on how heavily you're using your phone while it's charging. If you're streaming videos or playing games while charging, the power bank will drain faster.
Yes, you can, but we recommend charging one device at a time for the best experience. Charging a single device allows the power bank to work more efficiently and preserves its capacity. When charging multiple devices simultaneously, the power bank's charge depletes more quickly.
If your power bank doesn't turn on right away, try giving it a little shake to activate it. If it still doesn't work, return it to any Joos station and contact our customer support team. If the device stops working after about an hour and a half of use, it's likely running low on charge, and you'll need to rent another one.
Returning Your Power Bank
Returning is quick and easy:
- Find any Joos station (doesn't have to be the one you rented from)
- Press the silver "Return Power Bank" button on the right side of the station
- A light will flash next to an open slot
- Insert your power bank with the side containing the cables going in first
- Make sure the cables are properly tucked in
- Wait for the green confirmation light to know your return was successful
The blinking slot shows you exactly where to retrieve your power bank when renting and where to return it afterward. It's our way of making the process super intuitive!
Follow these simple steps:
- Locate the "Return Power Bank" button on the right side of the Joos station
- Press the button
- Look for the flashing light next to one of the open slots
- Insert your power bank into this slot with the cable side going in first
- Make sure the cables are properly tucked in
- Wait for the confirmation light to ensure your return was successful
Yes! Make sure all three integrated cables at the back of the power bank are neatly tucked in and not sticking out. This ensures your power bank locks properly into the station and registers as returned.
Absolutely. Once you've returned the power bank, the billing on your account ends automatically. The rental fee is deducted, and a receipt is sent to your email. It's a good idea to wait for this receipt as confirmation that your return has been processed. If you don't receive it, reach out to our customer service to confirm the return has registered in our system.
If you rented using the contactless terminal, once your power bank is successfully returned, the rental fee is deducted from the holding deposit and the remaining balance is automatically refunded to your account. The time it takes for the refund to appear depends on your bank but is typically processed within 2-7 working days.
If you don't return the power bank within the maximum rental period of 2 days, you'll be charged the retail price of the device. The power bank then becomes yours to keep.
No worries—just press the return button again and restart the return process. Make sure your power bank is properly inserted into the slot with the cables tucked in and locked securely in the station.
You can return your power bank to any Joos station—it doesn't have to be the same one you rented from. Just use the map in the app to find the nearest station with available slots. If you run into any issues, our customer service team is ready to help.
Support
Getting help is easy! Contact us through the Live Chat on our website or email us at customers@joospower.com. We're always happy to help with any questions or issues you might have.
We offer 24-hour support, so you can reach out to us anytime—day or night. We understand that power emergencies don't follow a 9-to-5 schedule!
Payments
Our prices are clearly displayed on your phone screen after scanning the QR code on the Joos station (but before you confirm your rental). If you're using the contactless option, the prices will be shown on the station's screen. This way, you'll always know exactly what you're paying before you commit.
Your rental fee is calculated based on the duration from the moment you rent and take the power bank until the time you return it to any Joos station. It's a simple time-based system, so you only pay for what you use.
The cost depends entirely on how long you keep and use the power bank. If you return it within the maximum rental period (2 days), you'll only pay the rental fee. If you don't return it within that time, you'll be charged the retail price of the power bank.
Think of a holding deposit as a quick "verification hold" on your bank account or credit card. It's just a temporary authorization to ensure your payment method is valid and has sufficient funds available for your rental.
The important thing to remember is that it's not an actual charge—just a temporary hold! Once you return the power bank, the rental fee is deducted from this amount, and the remaining funds are released back to your account.
If your order is cancelled, it's usually because the system is either undergoing maintenance or experiencing connection issues. In these cases, the transaction will not be processed, and you won't be charged anything. You can simply try again later or at another station.
