This is my 500th post here on my site. I launched this site just over four and a half years ago primarily as a way to learn and do technology evaluations. Surprisingly, it has also become a regular habit. It is the first personal journal I have ever stuck with.
This morning, NASA launched a rocket to the moon for the first time in fifty years. If you were not able to watch the launch, take a minute to watch. If it doesn't fill you with awe and pride, I would be surprised. Congratulations to the entire team at NASA and all of their commercial partners on a successful first launch of this exciting next step to enable human exploration of the moon and Mars. Remember... Always look up!
I am in the process of deploying the latest release of WordPress to our sites and the ones my company, Outcome Labs, manages for clients. The WordPress platform has been a great tool for me for fifteen years. It has enabled me to learn, to publish, to connect, and to grow a business.
I use WordPress for this site and extensively at work. The WordPress Block Editor has dramatically changed how WordPress sites are developed since it was integrated in 2018. If you haven't worked with it, here is a solid overview by Jamie Marsland of Pottlepress. Worth a watch.
A recent post on Engadget is a good overview of Amazon Sidewalk. Worth a read if you have Amazon Echo devices in your home. This function will be enabled by default when Sidewalk is deployed
Saw a bunch of articles in my Feedly news stream about increasing reports of battery swelling damaging Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones. Took the case off my Pixel 3 XL. It was "busted".
