Nurses and AHP in Committees
Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) can join any ISPD Committee.
But thereβs also a dedicated one for them:
The Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Committee (NAHPC).
π What is the NAHPC?
The NAHPC coordinates ISPDβs efforts to actively involve nurses and AHPs in all activities. Its mission is to ensure inclusivity, collaboration, and visibility of nursing and AHP expertise within ISPD.
It also serves as the main contact point for partnerships with nursing and allied health associations worldwide.
π What does the NAHPC do?
The Committee is responsible for:
- π Encouraging nursing & AHP research and publications in Peritoneal Dialysis International.
- π Promoting ISPD membership among nurses & AHPs worldwide.
- π Submitting an annual report of activities to ISPD Council.
- π€ Ensuring nursing & AHP representation across ISPD groups and committees.
- π‘ Advising ISPD members on nursing & AHP issues in peritoneal dialysis and nephrology.
- π Acting as a liaison with other ISPD committees.
- π€ Supporting the ISPD Congress program (suggesting speakers, reviewing abstracts, developing the Nursing & AHP track).
- πΌ Disseminating information on grants, fellowships, and travel bursaries for nursing & AHP members.
- π©βπ³ Involving allied health professionals (e.g. dietitians, renal pharmacists, social workers) in ISPD Congress.
- π Maintaining and updating nursing & AHP content on the ISPD website.
