Welcome to Indo Ocean Project. We are a community of ocean researchers and educators dedicated to conserving Indonesia’s marine environment through scientific studies and education. Our research strategy produces actionable studies that support global marine conservation efforts, while our training programs help students and career changers refine their diving skills and engage in meaningful research.

At our three project locations in Indonesia, participants can explore vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life while earning internationally recognized certifications with the guidance of experienced professionals. Whether you’re a student, a career changer, or simply passionate about the ocean, Indo Ocean Project offers a platform to gain knowledge, contribute to research, and help protect our ocean’s ecosystems.

Bali

Southern Sulawesi

On Sulawesi’s southern tip, Tanjung Bira is a culturally rich fishing village with a unique boat-building and seafaring heritage, ideal for immersive experiences.

RAJA AMPAT

West Papua

Located in the Dampier Strait, Raja Ampat is the heart of the Coral Triangle, celebrated for vibrant coral reefs, lush jungles, and rich Papuan culture.

Project goals: Research within the MPA, and tracking changes

Key species: Coral reefs, reef sharks, and manta rays

Misool – Halmahera – Lembeh
