Dr. Seema Jilani is a pediatrician who has done humanitarian aid work in Afghanistan, Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Egypt, the Balkans, on refugee rescue boats off the coast of Libya, on medical evacuation flights, and in other areas of conflict. She recently briefed the UN Security Council and Senior White House officials on her work as an emergency room physician in Gaza in 2024. She is a Fulbright Scholar, a Truman National Security Fellow, and an avid writer and advocate for her pediatric patients whose work has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, NPR, the Guardian, BBC News, and other media outlets.
