
Jason Meeks is the Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy New Delhi. Mr. Meeks most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal from 2022 through 2025. In Washington, he served as the Director of Africa and Middle East Affairs in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, partnering with over 30 nations to improve U.S. citizen security, promote the rule of law, and address threats to U.S. national security and regional stability. Mr. Meeks joined Foreign Service in 2002 and has also served as the Chief of Staff for the Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Personnel and Training. In addition to India and Nepal, Jason served overseas as the Management Counselor for Mission Turkey in Ankara (2016-2019), and management, political, and various other assignments in Taipei, Nairobi, Kathmandu, and Ouagadougou. Mr. Meeks has a Political Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a masters in National Security Studies from the National War College. He is originally from Wisconsin and is joined in India by his wife and two daughters.
