Belated music ...thing.

Somebody gave me an L. (It's funny, really.)

In no particular order:

Ladykillers - Lush

But I don't need your practiced lines, your school of charm mentality.
So save your breath for someone else and credit me with something more.
When it comes to men like you, I know the score. I've heard it all before.

Level - The Raconteurs

My baby's on the level, I try to read her mind.
She's on the straight and narrow, I'm guessing all the time.

Light Up Or Leave Me Alone - Traffic

Sometimes I feel like I'm fading away.
You're looking at me, I've got nothing to say.
Don't make me angry with the games that you play.
Either light up or leave me alone.

Looking At The World From The Bottom Of A Well - Mike Doughty

Aimless days, uncool ways of decathecting
Painless phase, blacked out thoughts you be rejecting

Let Down - Radiohead

disappointed people, clinging onto bottles,
and when it comes it's so,so, disappointing.

Tis the season, right?

When you see this meme, post a quote from Firefly in your journal.

Mal: "The Alliance said they were going to waltz through Serenity Valley. Well, we choked 'em with those words. We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

WHAT I SEEN

Tonight I saw a man stop a phone conversation in order to get his flirt on with two seemingly-random women. On the surface it was pretty impressive, since it didn't involve slaps and/or screaming.

The other day I saw two camels as part of an exhibit at a culture fair. I wonder how they deal with humidity. There was no spitting. ( I also learned that they're not spitting so much as throwing up. )

Overheard:

"Hey! Can I bum a cigarette? Just one or two? I was a Navy SEAL."

Sadly, I missed the end as I had a train to catch. The guy was scruffy enough to be a homeless vet, I suppose. He stopped two guys in suits. I don't know if they stopped to talk to him or what.

There was something else that was supposed to go here. I don't remember it now.

Good Idea/Bad Idea

Good Idea: Treating your comic collection like a big lending library

Bad Idea: Leaving some of your collection where it can be discovered by mothers who don't think witches are appropriate subject matter.

(The weather was crap and I didn't want to schlep them around where they might get rained on, well-protected or not, so I left them with S. in the car. I thought they'd have been moved before motherly eyes fell upon them..)

Ah well. Note to self: leave Lucifer at home. Dirty Pair is also right out.

SEE? I DONE POSTED.

Jesus Is My Bookmark

He really is! Thanks Latter-Day missionaries! The county sent me an angel in the form of a bus and then I was free.

Also, HOMELESS DRAMA. I'm not sure what was going on, but for a little crowd of three guys, there sure was a lot of shouting. I think it was two guys harassing a very vocal homeless guy. Eventually the cops showed up and i don't know how it all turned out, but the shouting stopped.

The kicker to the missionaries story is that my book of the week is called Sinner. I was worried that they'd die on the spot, or something.

The Best Way To:

Get a drink from a Vogon (stick your finger down his throat -- sorry, I hadda.)
Get me reading comics again (carry comics with me on the train)

It sounds crazy, but it really works. Knowing that I only have so much time to read is a good motivator. Since I have my book with me, I'm not worried about running out of things to read. This means I tend to try and read as many funnybooks as I can in the time I have.

Not much else to report.
I sure hope someone fixes the format issue on my friends page.
Scrolling all the way to the right to read entries is really shit.

ETA: Now, of course, everything's fine. I still love you all. Not that I know who did what...

I'm waiting for Opera to sort my mail.

Nothing much new is up, here. FedEx loves me but hates my room-mates. I have yet to come up with a suitable playlist for an overdue present. I have lots and lots of new funnybooks to read. ( yay, new Wolverine and Livewires and the list is LONG) Shining Tears has eaten my brain and i couldn't be happier. While I miss the feel of the old Shining games ( all the way back to Shining In The Darkness ), I'm enjoying this more recent take on the series.

We had company this past week and it was good.

Observations:

Too much time spent in the Simverse will lead to the following when not actually playing the game:

Trying to follow with the camera just by clicking on the portrait, then realizing there's no portrait. Wondering why there's no portrait -IN IE. Finding yourself trying to do the same thing later on.

That is all.

Since Tuesday my brain has been Wil Wright's feeding ground, except for the bits that Morrowind has secreted away. I have to subdivide those leavings for EQ and/or WoW (and Freedom Force and the new Musashi and Doom3 and Jade Empire and the list is endless) . I'll manage somehow. It's so nice having a drive that reads shiny discs like it should again.

On a similar note, I have terrific friends. Some of them don't read this. This does not diminish the awesomeness.

In my head I have some horrible song we heard ..somewhere. Car or restaurant, who knows?
