REGISTRATION | RECOGNITION | ACCREDIATION
We support the development of strong nurse-anesthesia education programs and provide guidance through the IFNA Program Approval Process (APAP). This process helps schools align with global standards and promote safe, consistent training.

REGISTRATION
Anesthesia Programs Officially Registered by IFNA
Anesthesia education programs holding IFNA Registration have met eligibility and application requirements for IFNA Registration. Registered programs pledge to meet IFNA’s Educational Standards to the best of their abilities. Curriculums of Registered programs have not undergone an approval process; they are posted for information only. Information about the curriculum is current at date of application. Anesthesia Programs Officially Recognized by IFNA
Anesthesia education programs holding IFNA Recognition have met eligibility and application requirements for IFNA Recognition. Recognized programs have also undergone a successful curriculum audit to demonstrate substantial compliance with the “Content of Program Curriculum” in the educational and graduate standards. ACCREDITATION
Anesthesia Programs Officially Accredited by IFNA
IFNA Accreditation offers two pathways.
First, anesthesia education programs holding IFNA Accreditation have met eligibility requirements and completed a written self-study. An on-site visit by IFNA experts has been completed confirming substantial compliance with the IFNA Educational Standards and full compliance with the curriculum standards. Title of award: IFNA Accreditation.
The second option is IFNA Deemed Accreditation.
Accredited programs approved through this pathway must verify that the program has met its official governmental or non-governmental standards for nurse anesthesia education. The program also has to prove that those standards are equivalent or exceed IFNA’s Education Standards. A nurse anesthesia program with deemed accreditation status will have all the privileges of an accredited program.
