It was 6 years ago today.

As honeyandvinegar pointed out, it was also a Tuesday.

I still remember very clearly exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard the news. I remember watching, first in horror, then in numbness, as images on top of images scrolled across the television. I finally had to turn it off to preserve my own sanity.

I remember how I felt, how I hurt for all the people who lost loved ones, for all those who didn't know if their friends and family were safe or not.

I still pray for peace and doubt it will ever happen. I still hope that humanity can live and learn and grow, but I have little faith left for that. It's not in our nature.

The older I get, the less faith I have and the more I mourn the loss of my innocence and of America's innocence.
