I haven't cried like this in such a long time.
I live in a country where 45% of the people live under the poverty line. I live in a place where politics is ruled by money, power and occasionally violence. I'm used to it now, I don't let it get it to me. My only goal is to somehow help the poor in my own way in the future, and definitely not get involved in politics.
However, after reading this article which contains some heart breaking pictures

I can't help but get angry and so sad.
Just days before the Prime Minister comes to visit the city, it's bombed by unknown terrorists.
A rickshaw puller is payed a measly Rs.20 - $0.51 to ferry the fateful package. Before succumbing to his injuries, he told the police that he was given the package by a member of an opposing political party. In the end, he was their only victim.
What did he do to deserve that? Using suicide bombers is bad enough, but these terrorists actually gave it to an innocent man, a daily wage laborer who had nothing to do with their "politics". Why must they involve others? What good will come out of all that violence?
Will there ever be an end to these meaningless means of 'making a mark'?
This is not the first time I read about bombs, but this really touched my heart. Like I said, I haven't cried like this in a long long time. I surprised myself, since I'm usually a really apathetic person when it comes to things like this.
Plus, I was listening to Seasons of Love from the Broadway musical, so I guess that all came on me at the same time...

There has been many occasions where my dad has given me the most wonderful advice, but the one that came up to my mind first was this:
"If you reach for the sky, you can at least touch the tree top."
This piece of advice was given to me when I was feeling very down, not confident in my abilities and confused about my future. With this, my dad was telling me to give my best and choose whatever I wanted to do with my life.
I'll never forget this. Thanks, dad.
