Creative Coding Collective (CCC) Slack

How To Register

If you are not a member of the CCC Slack, you need the support of an existing CCC member in order to register. They’ll need your desired username, your email address and a short introduction or LinkedIn profile.

When all goes well, you’ll get an invite via email.

The CCC Slack is exclusive, on purpose. We don’t want random walk-ins, as to avoid bots, AIs, script kiddies and entitled end-users to stumble in and clog our channels.

Also, bad behavior (insults, entitlement, bad language, bullying…) are not tolerated and will result in stern warnings and eventually banishment from the Slack. Be kind!

Hub

https://hub.creativecodingcollective.org

This is a WordPress site. Most of the info on the site is ‘private’ and only available to logged in users with at least a Subscriber account.

Page and post visibility and status are managed by way of WordPress categories.

Pages are structured by way of parent pages (e.g. operations vs projects).

There is a ‘shared’ Subscriber account that can be found on the CCC Slack.

If you want an editor account (so you can add/edit/tweak), please post a request in the #hub channel in the CCC Slack.

Use your account responsibly. There is not much by way of security, so if you want to misbehave, there is no stopping you.

There are pre-defined WordPress categories on the site. When working on a page or post, use the categories to indicate project/operation status.

There is also a ‘Public’ category. Use this very carefully.

By setting the ‘Public’ category on a page or post, you make the content visible to ‘the world’. People that are not logged in can see anything in the ‘Public’ category.

Initiatives, Operations and Projects are arranged as nested pages.

If you want to propose or start a new operation:

  • create a new page
  • make ‘Operations’ the parent page.

If you want to propose or start a new project:

  • create a new page
  • make ‘Projects’ the parent page.

Wiki

The same account info also will log you in to this DokuWiki.

If you want an editor account (so you can add/edit/tweak), please ask me ([email protected]) – I’ll create an account for you.

Use your account responsibly – there is not much by way of security, so if you want to misbehave, there is no stopping you.
