When Talking About It Isn’t Enough
Many people understand why they feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, yet continue to struggle with the same patterns.
Somatic work recognizes that trauma and overwhelming life experiences can affect not only how we think, but also how we experience our bodies, emotions, and sense of safety in the world.
When the nervous system has been shaped by trauma, abuse, chronic stress, or painful childhood experiences, these patterns can continue long after the original events have passed.

Healing does not happen by forcing.
It happens when the nervous system feels safe enough to soften.

What Is a Somatic Session?

Somatic sessions are based on the understanding that trauma is experienced not only in the mind, but also in the body and nervous system.
When emotions are pushed down or experiences remain unprocessed, they can continue to affect how we feel, respond, and connect with others, often showing up as anxiety, anger, shame, emotional overwhelm, hypervigilance, relationship challenges, or survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
Somatic sessions provide a gentle, trauma-informed space to explore these patterns and support greater regulation, safety, and healing.

Why Include the Body in Healing?
Many people have spent years trying to think their way out of anxiety, overwhelm, shame, or relationship patterns.
While insight can be valuable, understanding why something happens does not always change how it feels in the body.
Somatic work creates space to explore the physical sensations, emotions, and nervous system responses connected to these experiences, helping bridge the gap between understanding and lasting change.
This section now gives a reason for somatic work.
Healing isn’t about forcing yourself to move faster. It’s about creating enough safety for your nervous system to move at its own pace.
