Techquity in healthcare (technology + health equity) is the intentional design, development and distribution of technology to improve outcomes for underserved patients and address structural inequities in healthcare.

Given increasing reliance on digital health (including artificial intelligence), prioritizing techquity now is our best chance to solve healthcare’s most pressing issues: preventable disease, loss of life, healthcare labor shortages and their high human and economic costs.

Guided by a cross-sector advisory committee, HLTH Foundation is building a practice of techquity to help technology and data innovators build digital tools and programs that foster health equity, and to make better choices available to clinicians, patients, employers and insurers.

Techquity Award Applications are Open
Applications for our Techquity for Health Case Study Awards are open and ready for your submissions. The program will award ten finalists and three winners for innovations that include digital health tools, technology-enabled health programs and data projects designed to reduce health disparities or inequities. Solutions can be patient-, consumer-, or provider-facing.
Techquity Awards Season 3
This season’s cohort is redefining excellence in innovation for digital health access and tackling some of the hardest problems in healthcare—clinician burnout in Cameroon, rural care access, suicide prevention for indigenous veterans, and more. Their solutions are proving what’s possible when technology is designed to close gaps.
