HelloGP currently offers two main consultation options.
You can have a Standard consultation for $44 or one for alternative therapies, weight management, or sexual health for $79.
You can have a Priority consultation for $99, or one for alternative therapies, weight management, or sexual health for $119.
You can use HelloGP if you are physically located in Australia. You do not need to be an existing patient, have a Medicare card, or be located in a particular state to use HelloGP.
As long as you are in Australia at the time of your consultation, you can use the service. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian present during the consultation.
A Standard appointment is for general medical issues that do not require immediate medical attention and are scheduled at standard times.
A Priority appointment is for those who wish to see the doctor sooner rather than later. The level of medical service is the same for both appointments.
HelloGP is not an emergency service. For example, if you are feeling severe symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty in breathing, weakness, excessive bleeding, or anything that you think could threaten your life.
In that case, it is recommended that you call 000 or visit the emergency department. This is because telehealth is only suitable for non-emergency cases.
After the consultation, the doctor may issue an electronic prescription if it is safe and appropriate. The eScript will be sent to you via SMS or email and can be used at any pharmacy in Australia.
Most medications can be obtained via telehealth, except for certain restricted medications.
HelloGP doctors can prescribe a variety of day-to-day medications, including treatments for infections, allergies, asthma, skin problems, mental health, women’s health, men’s health, and long-term conditions.
Certain medications, including Schedule 8 medications and those requiring close physical monitoring, cannot be prescribed via telehealth.
Yes. If the doctor considers it appropriate, you will be given a digital certificate the same day. The certificate can be used for work, school, university, or as a carer. Under Australian regulations, backdated certificates cannot be issued, so your certificate will only apply from the date of your consultation.
Yes. Your doctor can issue referrals for blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, scans, and specialist appointments when required. These referrals are delivered digitally so you can take them directly to the clinic or provider of your choice.
HelloGP is a privately billed telehealth service. Medicare rebates usually apply only to clinics that offer both in-person and telehealth services. Because HelloGP is a telehealth-only service, Medicare does not cover the consultation fee.
This allows the service to provide rapid, flexible access to doctors without long wait times.
At HelloGP, doctors are generally available from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. However, appointments can be requested online 24/7.
Yes. All doctors at HelloGP are AHPRA-registered. Additionally, all doctors are fully insured.

No. For medico-legal reasons, HelloGP doctors cannot provide consultations to patients overseas.
Yes. You can still attend your appointment. However, if you do not have a local Australian phone number, the doctor will send you a link for a video consultation. You can attend your appointment via video conference.
However, if you do not join the video conference by clicking the link sent by the doctor within 10 minutes of its sending, your appointment will be considered unattended, and no refund will be issued.
It is your responsibility to either provide your local Australian telephone number to the doctor or to attend your video conference as soon as the doctor sends the link.
Yes, our doctors can provide referrals to psychiatrists and most other specialists, including for ADHD testing. Our doctors are not able to prescribe scheduled medications, such as stimulants.
You must ensure that the reason for your appointment is not for the purpose of obtaining stimulants or other Schedule 4 or 8 medications.
No, refunds are not provided for appointments booked incorrectly by patients. Please review our website carefully and book appointments only for the general conditions that HelloGP doctors can assist with.
