What is hackGSU?
hackGSU is the Hackathon hosted by the GSU Computer Science Department's ACM & IEEE student organizations. 100% free of charge, Lots of Food, $$ Prizes $$. This semester, hackGSU will be a 500+ participant event taking place from March 29th - March 31st .
Who can participate?
All university students*! You do not have to be a computer science major to participate in the competition! If you're someone who is willing to learn and wants to take a shot at changing the world, no matter what your field is, you definitely belong here.
*You will be required to present a university ID at check-in.

Your challenge is to develop an app that incorporates our Neighborhood of Good message and community offers. Use your creativity to tailor it to what you think may fit. Your theme can be fun, it can be applicable to real life disaster recovery, it can be ways you feel we can make the customer experience of buying and retaining State Farm insurance better, or whatever your team dreams up.

Crypto Challenge
Solve the highest number of problems and win a JBL Clip bluetooth speaker for each team member (up to 4 total team members).

Best Use of Google Cloud Platform

Food Desert
Develop a solution to solve for nutrition in areas where fresh vegetables might be in low supply, and at a price point where spoilage is a significant concern for low income single mothers.
Child Care Challenge
Build a tool to help low income residents easily identify public transportation options and child care centers in the vicinity of businesses with open job postings. Develop in a cloud platform using modern python languages and software engineering.
Intro to Machine Learning Challenge
Solve the image section identification and annotation challenge posed in Dr. Daniel's Machine Learning Workshop to win Google Home Minis.
CETL Challenge
Develop any program you like, but it must have the following criteria.
1. Further, develop DLL Projects during the 48 hours of HackGSU
2. All projects must involve technology and impact a well-defined social or community issue
3. Final projects must be an app or device
4. Prototypes must have a visual representation and wireframe to walk us through the process
[Tiffany Green-Abdullah] We are nearing the end of DLL and we need to see minimum viable products.
5. Non-DLL Students may accept this challenge. Prizes can only be awarded to GSU Students.
6. DLL Challenge participants can get support from coaches at HackGSU as needed
7. DLL teams can apply to multiple challenges during HackGSU but this challenge must be completed.
