Hackathon Rules and Guidelines

To ensure a fair, enjoyable, and productive event, participants must adhere to the following rules:

1. General Rules:

  • All participants must register for the hackathon by the specified deadline.
  • Participants can join individually or in teams of up to 7 members.
  • All work submitted must be original and developed during the hackathon period.
  • Plagiarism, use of pre-existing projects, or reuse of past work will result in immediate disqualification.

2. Team Formation:

  • Teams must be formed and registered prior to the start of the hackathon.
  • Participants are allowed to collaborate only within their registered teams.
  • Cross-team collaborations or sharing of resources between teams is prohibited.

3. Code of Conduct:

  • All participants must maintain a professional and respectful demeanor throughout the event.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants violating the code of conduct.

4. Development Rules:

  • Projects must align with the hackathon theme: "Management Challenges in the Education Sector."
  • Participants may use open-source libraries, APIs, and frameworks, provided proper credits are given.
  • Use of unauthorized, proprietary, or illegal resources is strictly forbidden.

5. Submission Rules:

  • All submissions must be made before the deadline: 30/3/2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Participants must submit all required deliverables, including code, documentation, and any optional demo videos, as outlined in the submission requirements.
  • Teams are responsible for ensuring their submission is complete and accessible.

6. Presentation Rules:

  • Selected teams may be required to present their projects during a live demo session.
  • Each presentation must adhere to the time limit of 5 minutes.
  • Teams should be prepared to answer questions from judges during the presentation.

7. Judging and Evaluation:

  • Projects will be judged based on:
    • Innovation: How unique and creative is the solution?
    • Feasibility: Can the solution be realistically implemented?
    • Impact: How effectively does it address the problem?
    • Scalability: Can the solution be expanded for broader use?
  • The judges’ decision is final and binding.

8. Ownership and Intellectual Property:

  • Participants retain ownership of their projects.
  • By submitting their work, participants grant the organizers a license to showcase the project for promotional purposes.

9. Technical Support and Queries:

  • Participants can access technical support and ask questions through the event’s designated communication channels on Discord.
  • All queries must be respectful and relevant to the hackathon.

10. Penalties and Disqualification:

  • Non-compliance with any rule may lead to disqualification.
  • The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules or disqualify participants at their discretion.

11. Miscellaneous:

  • Internet connectivity, system requirements, and access to tools or resources are the responsibility of the participants.
  • Any updates to the rules or additional instructions will be communicated promptly through official channels.
