Hack Arizona is the premier hackathon in the Southwestern United States, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds to collaborate, innovate, and build impactful projects. Judging Criteria

  • AWS AI App Challenge - AI Application Innovation & Cloud Deployment
    Judges will evaluate creativity, usefulness, and cloud deployment of your AI app. Consider originality, functionality, integration with AWS, and how well it solves a real problem. Bonus for smooth demo and polished user experience.
  • Amazon Prime Marketing Challenge - Creative Campaign & Gen Z Relevance
    Judges will assess how creatively and effectively your idea connects Gen Z to Amazon Prime. Entries should show insight into Gen Z, have a clear, original concept, and include visuals. Bonus for boosting Prime’s value in daily life and culture.
  • Biosphere 2 Digital Twin AI - AI Model Performance & On-Device Execution
    Judges will assess how well your AI handles terrain, crop monitoring, and system control in the Biosphere 2 simulation. Key factors include running on your own device, meeting task goals, and overall creativity. Live demos will be judged for stability.
  • U of A Student Life Improvement - Impactful Student- Focused Tech Solution
    Projects will be judged on how well they improve student life at the University of Arizona. Solutions like D2L redesigns or campus apps should be relevant, easy to use, and impactful. Judges will focus on functionality, creativity, and user experience.
