I stopped reading Scot Goes Pop a long time ago, since it went to YouTube who can be bothered. It has become a bit of an anti-independence blog though by the looks. James Kelly was in the SNP, left the SNP and slagged them off, joined Alba, left Alba, slagged them and rejoined the SNP, now the SNP is the best thing since sliced bread, and he has moved on to hating Liberate Scotland, I get not liking the name but what is it with certain people. First it was the war with Wings, then the SNP, then Alba, now Liberate and don’t bother commenting on his blog, he only publishes comments that agree with him, tell him how wonderful he is or are as misguided as he is.

A photay from my 5.30am wandir this morning – was a bit chilly, didnt’ see a soul so it was Bruce nae mates, however, the sunrise over the Tay was looking like a braw one this morning. I did notice passing Tesco that unleaded is up to £1.49 a litre, those bastards are at it, they are declaring profit war on the consumer, when I was shopping the other day I noticed that food is going up yet again. This is down to Trump, and the cowardice of people like Starmer who are just happy to see their mates milk massive profits on the backs of the rest of us. Wankers.

Been busy the last week or so, so really haven’t had a chance to do all that much reading, or blogging.

This did catch my eye today though. I don’t mind people on benefits getting a raise given that benefits in the UK barely keep a family above starvation, and freezing to death, but MPs getting £3,300 cost of living rise, fuck me, are they taking the piss, yes they are!

No way is that justified given what they earn, and what we get back from them.

I think Labour will get hammered everywhere in the May elections – but I suspect apathy will be the overall winner.

The SNP might be winning according to the latest polling, they are on around 39%, the turn out at the last regional council election was 62.2% in 2021 boosted by changes to who could vote. It will be interesting to see what the turnout will be in May.

Labour are going to get their arse kicked big time, they are on 18% in Wales their lowest ever I think, they are on 12% in Scotland, 18% in England for the cooncil elections. Reform are going to kick their arse. The various colonies in the UK may all return nationalist councils, while it might be interesting to a degree it won’t mean shit though because the English Parliament will not cocede power no matter who evers turn it is to manage England and the colonies, Tory, Reform, or Labour, all the same side of the same arse.

Trump does not give a shit about human life – any human life, the man is not just an idiot, he is a psychopath. So it starts in ernest – the great World Cup rip off begins. £75 for both the home and away Scotland tops. Not funny in any way is it. Domestic clubs do it as well to a similar degree nationally as football fans are just an easy cash cow.

I don’t buy a personal football top for the Dees, although I will get my son one as a gift as I am just not really into them all that much. The prices though are just such a huge con, but, Addidas know they will get away with it because thousands of people will pay those prices leading up to the matches being played starting in June, even though more than likely Scotland will be out of the competition after the 3 group stage games so very short shelf life indeed.

The tops don’t even look good at all, it could be worse I suppose, the England top costs around £100, rip off also.

Got my voting letter through the post yesterday – it used to be card, now a letter, oh well. I pinned it to the kitchen board as I am still a bit on the fence as to voting in the Regional Council elections or not in May. There is a part of me that thinks I should, go for the best candidates, then there is the other part of me that thinks that it is pretty pointless as indepedence right now is dead no matter what the polls say, that Holyrood is pretty much a shit show overall, they make unionism attractive to many people.

Wee photay from this mornings 5.30am walk – really cold in that wind this morning in Dundee, however, this is the time of year that you do get to see some good sun rises. I love Dundee, and I hate Dundee. I don’t want to live anywhere else, but the City has so many problems, with too many people who just don’t want to help themselves they expect the elected councillors to provide everything for them, too many people with no respect for their neighbours, their community, or their city environment. Drugs, crime, and violence are an issue, sometimes it feels like an ever increasing issue. Resources are limited because the priorities nationally are the wrong ones, and it is always the little things, the visable things that result in the apathy that I see around me, that I myself feel, the litter on the ground, the bins not being emptied enough. The beggers in the street, the state of the City in general.

There is so much to love about Dundee, my family, my 3 or 4 really close friends, the mighty Dees, I actually think we have some really good local councillors, especially the Lib Dem Group, but Dundonians in general need to step up and take more responsibility for their city, and themsleves, how you do that is the real question I guess.

Will any of them be missed – I doubt it. If there is one thing that has been a constant since the Regional Parliament returned it has been the decline in quality of the elected politicians who have sat in it. Pretty much a collection of garbage, very poor, or simply incompetent non entities. We deserve so much better than we have gotten over the years that is clear. The party system right now enforces continuous decline.

Some leave with relief, some with regret, and some with a sense of unfinished business.

Forbes, Yusuf, Ross, and of course the Sturgeon have all done nothing for the colony over the years, they have achieved nothing, changed nothing, they have made our decline worse, our politics more an idiots guide, our regional council a stain. In the case of Sturgeon, not only has she made Scotland a more hateful place, she destroyed the SNP in so many ways, and she destroyed independence, if any one deserves to be regarded poorly by our inglorious history it is that woman, the damage she has caused possibly won’t ever be fixed.

So, no I will not miss of them, I wish pretty much the whole lot of them were going, looking at the candidates for May we are in for more of the same or worse. Holyrood is a sad reflection on our colony, on our politics, and on our people.

Unemployment has been climbing in third world UK – for the last couple of years not because of the Iran war. My daughter moved to England 6 months ago, has been unable to find any job, least of all a graduate one. She gets interviews then discovers she is up against hundreds of people chasing the same job, added to the fact that charities are even wanting experienced volunteers, slave labour basically.

I know I am a grumpy old man with a glass half empty outlook, I accept that I am more to the left than the centre, but right now, England and the colonies are in trouble, real trouble, 1980’s level trouble. In 1983 unemployment reached 10.7% for young people, today it is 16%. I grew up in the 80’s, things were bad, how bad do you think they are right now. How is that 2014 no vote working out for you out there in Scotland, you yes yet, you fucking should be.

Dundee FC need a new stadium – Dens Park is way passed it’s sell by date, it is not a good stadium to go and watch modern football. The on-going football stadium saga for DFC has been going on for years.

I really do think there are just people out there who want the Dees to fail, the nimbies, the so called experts at Transport Scotland who refuse to even really discuss the road planning. Rather than sit down with the club to reach an agreement through discussion the system means that DFC have to come up with expensive plans that they then refuse without saying what would be a compromise, this costs the club hundreds of thousands of pounds. No wonder nothing works in this shithole of a colony, and just another reason why the City of Dundee remains a shit hole in so many ways.

Don’t get me wrong, at my age I don’t really want to live anywhere else, Dundee is my home, most of my family are here, I work here, but Dundee my whole life has been just a missed opportunity where the growth industry has always been incompetence.

Wasn’t a great game – but if the Dees are to lose then I would rather it be to Hearts so they get closer to winning the league than one of the ugly sisters. Dundee put up a fight but were a bit flat, Hearts deserved the win, just, but looked nervy.

Dundee did make changes to the starting line up but they never really had the impact that I would have hoped to be honest. There was’nt a huge amount of clear chances, both sides were at it with the going down like they had been shot, which turns people off. I so wish players would stop that pish, with Kilmarnock and St.Mirren winning Dundee are very much still in the relgation fight, Celtic next, then Kilmarnock, that Kilmarnock game is going to a big one at Dens.

The usual right wing nutters like Pers Morgan were all over social media warning that London would be bombed before the weekend was out, the end of their world was nye, England need to join the Trump blood lust and bomb the fuck out of women and children in iran, as they are in Gaza.

I really don’t think the human race deserves to survive on this planet, the ones that murder for greed, and their madness, and ourlseves for allowing these people to get into government, or having a say over any part of our world.

In two minds about the May elections – I am still on the fence on wither to vote in May or not, I have been thinking that given that independence, in my opinion, is pretty much a dead parrot right now maybe I should just vote for the candidates that I belive would represent me best. Having a look at Dundee City West, and the North East List, there is not a huge amount to chose from really. There is a candidate for Liberate Scotland on the list which may be worth looking at. On the constituency by far the best candidate is Daniel Coleman, a local Liberal Democrat councillor whom I know is hard working, and very honest. While Daniel is a member of a unionist party if the people of Scotland clearly wanted a referendum then I could trust Daniel to vote for democracy over tribalism.

As I said, undecided as of yet, but maybe the way to go is just for the best candidate, the Labour Candidate is already an MSP at Holyrood, he is awful in my opinion, the worst kind of English Labour politician going.

Not all much to write about today really, it is one of the things that makes blogging less enjoyable right now, Scotland is just in decline, like England and the colonies, there is a malaise about all the parts of these Islands right now, a sense that the best days are well and truly behind us all now. The best hope for Scotland is independence, I don’t doubt that for one minute, I also don’t doubt that Scotland won’t vote for independence, Scots are just too fucking stupid not to see that they are voting to go down with the Titanic, as I said before, history will judge Scotland as one of the most stupid race of people ever.

It will be tough though, Hearts are very good, especially at home, and the Dees haven’t beat Hearts for a while, they were the last team to beat Hearts at home though so that should give them some encouragement. I also think Dundee need to freshen up the starting 11 today, they are starting to look a little tired now. I would like to at least see Hay start in place of Murray, Kommetio in place of Astley. Dhanda can’t play today so I suspect we will see Finn Robertson or Callum Jones, I would go with Robertson, I think he keeps the ball better. Either way, fingers crossed as always.

A couple of photays – from my walk this morning. Great that the weather is getting a bit better now. I might even cut the grass soon , and get the occasional coffee sitting in the garden, or what passes for my garden, grass basically. My favourite time used to be the winter but the older I get I have started to prefer the spring, and summer, just so I can sit in the garden, have a drink, and a wee read, occasional BBQ.

The marches always want to go through Catholic areas, while there be some that are genuine in wanting to celebrate their misguided British history, many that follow this pish are bigots with little understanding of history but filled with hate.

There is the saying that you need to know where you have been to know where you are going, my Dad used to say that about Scottish history, in the main I agree, the really sad thing is that we never fucking seem to learn from history do we, look at the state of the world, and who we allow to lead it, fucking monsters.

Populist policies in Scotland will work – because at its core Scotland is in many way a very Conservative colony while maybe not being too far to the right.

Cutting the number of politicians right now as a pledge when people hate them is a good call, cutting the number of unelected quangos, which should have happened years ago, another good call. Cutting the number of constituencies, again at this time when politicians are held in lower esteem than rats, another good call even though it will actually make our politics even worse than they are right now.

Being pro fossel fuel, again many people are in Scotland, another populist vote winner. They probably won’t mention immigration all that much in most areas of Scotland, or cutting public services, they won’t have to. They will attract the grievance unionist vote, expect an anti-independence mantra as we get closer to May, the other unionist parties need to watch out, Reform and the disgusting Farage might just wipe them out.

Immigration is not something that would influence my vote, if I were to vote, to any great degree. I do think that we can barely provide services for the people who already live here, and I will admit to having less sympathy for economic migrants than I do asylum seekers, but overall not a huge issue for myself as I don’t need to blame desperate foreign people for my colonies woes.

However, Starmer, if he allows 1.6 million people to remain in England, farming them out across England and the colonies, might as well just give the keys to Farage to colonial headquarters in 10 Downing Street. Labour are screwed anyway, this would be the final nail in their coffin as we know that the only votes that really count in shit hole UK are the votes made by voters in England, votes in the colonies of Wales, Northern ireland, and Jockland just don’t matter either way, they never have. Yet the colonised yoons in Scotland, you know the ones who claim to be proud Scots, and proud Brits (LOL) will keep voting for colonisation.

Other than mostly old folk does anyone really watch tv now? I binge watch some shows, but in the main, I just don’t watch all that much tv it is just rubbish. Most movies I don’t bother about anymore let alone tv shows, other than a couple that are ok.

My 5.30am morning walk today was pretty decent – not cold so was able to wear one less layer, there was no wind, no rain, not too much speeding traffic as no one really gives a shit now about speed limits. Some mornings you need eyes in the back of your head between delivery drivers, BMW and Audi owners who think they are Lewis Hamilton, honestly some people are just assholes when they get in a car. I have my own car but to be honest I only use it when I really have to, I walk, don’t get the bus as I hate the bus due to mostly the people who are on them in Dundee creating far too much drama for myself at my 57 years now.

I will admit some days I am really not in the mood of going for a walk at this time, most days though I am glad I made the effort. I normally listen to podcasts, I used to listen to most of the independence ones, but given they have become an echo chamber talking in circles while independence is as good as dead I rarely bother anymore.

I’ve had a couple of emails from folks who, for their sins, read this blog saying they like the Bits N Pieces being back as it gives them a little laugh when they have a read of my more often that not ignorant opinions, and rants, it does take a bit of reading, and putting together, but thank you, I will try and keep them going for a while if I can, and people still want to have a wee laugh at them.

First things first – Trump will not be giving a shit if prices go up for everything all over the world, it will be good for his pals who own the energy companies because he does not give a fuck about anyone but himself, his own idiot family, and ripping off the taxpayer at every opportunity.

Trump is clearly taking a lesson from the English Parliament playbook, never allow a good murder of thousands of innocent people to get in the way of profit, doesn’t matter how you get the profit, killing people of another colour in another country fine, making your own people, and people all over the world poorer, fine.

People like Trump, Starmer, they could not give a shit about life, they could not give a shit about people in Dundee, in Basingstoke, in Cardiff, or Belfast. We can’t even keep the streets clean, the pot holes filled, the SNHS funded, and staffed, we have a throw away society, in an ever increasingly ignorant colonial Scotland, governed by pretty much useless idiots, there is no way I trust this colony, with this decision.

The intrigues of Mandelson and Morgan McSweeney should become public knowledge. But we deserve access to the bigger story, of the political establishment’s willing capitulation to corporate-capture, with the likes of Peter Mandelson an eager conduit for a motley crew of self-serving billionaires.

What don’t people get for fuck sake, the pedos have been around for generations, and the powers that be knew about it, and protected them, the con men in politics have been around since 1707 in Scotland, we have all paid the price for it, the Labour Party were bought and sold years ago, the gullible refuse to see it, the great rip off has been happening since time began, there is no excuse for our own ingnorance, cowardice, or complicity.

Replicated polling shows a majority of the British public believe that “the rich have too much influence over British politics.” A recent Oxfam poll showed a clear majority of Scots favour wealth taxes.

My message to my fellow colonised, do something about it. Either don’t vote in huge numbers (which I favour), vote for the smaller parties, or honest independents, or stage a revolution, but FFS do NOT vote for any of the established parties in May, a vote for any of them is a vote for continued poverty, colonialism, early death, addiction, ignorance, and complicity in this shit show.
