Could have won, should have lost, will take the draw – Dundee were a bit honking yesterday at Kilmarnock. Kilmarnock will probably think they should have won the game, rightly, Dundee missed a penalty in the last minute
the keeper made a decent save to be fair. The Dees just did not play well at all, possibly the worst they have played in a while, I also think teams know how the Dees will play so we need a plan B to shake things up. Still a point is a point, nothing lost, 3 games at home in the final 5, can definately stay up which is more than I thought just a few months ago.
Big Game today for Killie and the mighty Dees – A win for Killie then the relegation playoff place is wide open, a win for Dundee FC and the Dees are all but safe for another season.
Killie have improved a lot at home, on their awful plastic pitch, under Neil McCann while the Dees have been playing well overall but not picking up the wins they need really. It will be a very close match, I can see it going either way because that horrible pitch is a leveller for sure, a draw would not surprise me, hope for a Dee win though of course.
Yeah a Goldmine that we were told in the longer term would never support the beginning of an indendent Scotland – too wee too poor and too fucking stupid. ALL TRUE because as the colony we are it is what too many people in our colony really believe.

Wee photay from the morning walk today – off on annual leave for a week from today, glad to have a wee break. Don’t have a huge amount planned, being the rock star that I am I really do have to give the house a spring clean.
It was chilly this morning, hopefully the weather will start to get a bit better soon so a wee coffee in the garden with a magazine becomes a bit more of a reality. I don’t ask for much in life really, not into fancy holidays, or going abroad, don’t like the travelling part, usually ok when I get where I am going, the getting there kind of pisses me off a bit. I really don’t mind just hanging out in Dundee when I am off, saddo I know, it is what it is.
Not often I agree with the Tories – but I do on this one. I am all for saving the planet, I am all for a just transition, the problem is we don’t have a just transition. One private jet flight pollutes the planet more than I will in my lifetime, that most ordinary people will in their lifetimes, yet it is the poorest, and most vulnerable that pay the most.
The people who cause the least damage to the environment, are the ones who are used to offset the real damage done by companies, and the elite, so I totally agree with the Tories, sadly it won’t make a difference. Middle class politicians who can afford the best long distance Tesla, have the most heat efficient houses, can afford the best organic food, who live in an alternative world than the rest of us sadly have their heads up their arse to the extent that those of us on the lowest step pay the most.
What a morning in that I agree with the Tories and the Daily Devolution on the same day – what is the the colony coming to. The USA, and Israel, are the greatest threats to world peace, not saying that Putin is not a madman, that some countries have practices that are nothing short of disgusting by way of what we might class as our set of values and morals.

Any sexual crime is horrific – there can be no doubt about that in any way. I have some professional experience of the Scottish Youth Parliament, it is a good organisation, it is a worth while organisation. if there are lessons to be learned then they will be learned.
Involving young people in decision making in our colony is vital, it is not just the law now under the UNCRC, it is the right thing to do. We have got to find a way to encourage young people to take more responsibiity in the future of our colony, the Scottish Youth Pariament is a huge part of that. I totally understand that some young people may feel like they have been let down by an inperfect system, removing the funding of this vital organisation is not the answer to improving it going forward, it is too important to lose if we are serious about improving the opportunities for young people to influence both their own and our futures.
The on-going great World Cup Rip Off – A collegue at work is taking her sons to the World Cup and was on about the train prices to get to the games in Boston. Normal returns are £20 basically, for the world cup Scotland fans they are charging £80, total rip off. That is why so many people just do not go to things now, I was at Peter Kay at the Hydro last Friday, parking £12, so sick of getting ripped off all the time no matter what you attend. I am at the point now where I just won’t go to things.
I know we all expect to pay a little more for events etc but you just have to question if it is worth the cost. The world cup doesn’t bother me as I will more than likely not watch it anyway, I would never want to go to one, concerts and so forth are now just not worth it in my opinion, who wants to pay £10 for a packet of crisps, all that shit.
The futility of the May Regional Devolution Election – the cuboard is so bare in colony Scotland right now when it comes to the political scene.
It is beginning to look like an SNP and Scottish Green Parliament, which will mean more of the same underwhelming incompetence, and drudgery for the next 5 years, more poor decline management, more nonsense legislation, more woke pish, more political depression.
The more the attention falls on the May elections, the more I see, and hear, the more inclined I am not to bother. Just look at the leaders of the parties, Swinney, Sarwar, Greer, Hamilton, and whoever the Tory/Refom branch managers are, there is a bunch of people that will inspire, take colony Scotland into a glorious new future, NOT.
You could easily lose the will, in fact when it comes to politics here in the colony I already have. I would say that right now I am 60/40 not to vote.
Very humid this morning on the walk – while I did eventually actually enjoy it I am feeling tired, so was maybe not really in the mood all that much at the start. Off next week so may go out later on the days I have nothing planned, sleep, or laze in bed a little later as I am not getting any younger that is for sure.
I rarely see anyone on my morning walk, sometimes a jogger, a cyclist, or another walker. You do need eyes in the back of your head though crossing the roads as there are a huge amount of asshole delivery drivers, and drivers in general, who think they are race car drivers in the morning.

A wee photay from my morning walk today – couldn’t sleep so ended up going out at 5.20am, only 10 minutes earlier but it shows what the difference is with the sun rise.
As I have said in the past, I don’t always look forward to my morning walk, I have a wee groan when I get up at 5am. However, I am always glad that I have done my walk, wither in silence, a podcast, music, it is not a bad way to start the day. It gives you a chance to breath, to think, or not to think.
As I have gotten older the days just fly past now, it feels like I am always busy, and when I am not I need a nap lol. The world is such a shitty place right now that any peace we can find in any way is worth it.
While jobs in the colony are to be welcomed – if it in fact happens it is also a bit of a disgrace that it is so the English Governments weapons of mass destruction can be kept as far away from England as possible.
I don’t agree with nuclear weapons

I stopped reading Scot Goes Pop a long time ago, since it went to YouTube who can be bothered. It has become a bit of an anti-independence blog though by the looks. James Kelly was in the SNP, left the SNP and slagged them off, joined Alba, left Alba, slagged them and rejoined the SNP, now the SNP is the best thing since sliced bread, and he has moved on to hating Liberate Scotland, I get not liking the name but what is it with certain people. First it was the war with Wings, then the SNP, then Alba, now Liberate and don’t bother commenting on his blog, he only publishes comments that agree with him, tell him how wonderful he is or are as misguided as he is.
A photay from my 5.30am wandir this morning – was a bit chilly, didnt’ see a soul so it was Bruce nae mates, however, the sunrise over the Tay was looking like a braw one this morning. I did notice passing Tesco that unleaded is up to £1.49 a litre, those bastards are at it, they are declaring profit war on the consumer, when I was shopping the other day I noticed that food is going up yet again. This is down to Trump, and the cowardice of people like Starmer who are just happy to see their mates milk massive profits on the backs of the rest of us. Wankers.
Been busy the last week or so, so really haven’t had a chance to do all that much reading, or blogging.
This did catch my eye today though. I don’t mind people on benefits getting a raise given that benefits in the UK barely keep a family above starvation, and freezing to death, but MPs getting £3,300 cost of living rise, fuck me, are they taking the piss, yes they are!
No way is that justified given what they earn, and what we get back from them.
I think Labour will get hammered everywhere in the May elections – but I suspect apathy will be the overall winner.
The SNP might be winning according to the latest polling, they are on around 39%, the turn out at the last regional council election was 62.2% in 2021 boosted by changes to who could vote. It will be interesting to see what the turnout will be in May.
Labour are going to get their arse kicked big time, they are on 18% in Wales their lowest ever I think, they are on 12% in Scotland, 18% in England for the cooncil elections. Reform are going to kick their arse. The various colonies in the UK may all return nationalist councils, while it might be interesting to a degree it won’t mean shit though because the English Parliament will not cocede power no matter who evers turn it is to manage England and the colonies, Tory, Reform, or Labour, all the same side of the same arse.

So it starts in ernest – the great World Cup rip off begins. £75 for both the home and away Scotland tops. Not funny in any way is it. Domestic clubs do it as well to a similar degree nationally as football fans are just an easy cash cow.
I don’t buy a personal football top for the Dees, although I will get my son one as a gift as I am just not really into them all that much. Got my voting letter through the post yesterday – it used to be card, now a letter, oh well. I pinned it to the kitchen board as I am still a bit on the fence as to voting in the Regional Council elections or not in May. There is a part of me that thinks I should, go for the best candidates, then there is the other part of me that thinks that it is pretty pointless as indepedence right now is dead no matter what the polls say, that Holyrood is pretty much a shit show overall, they make unionism attractive to many people.
Wee photay from this mornings 5.30am walk – really cold in that wind this morning in Dundee, however, this is the time of year that you do get to see some good sun rises. I love Dundee, and I hate Dundee. I don’t want to live anywhere else, but the City has so many problems, with too many people who just don’t want to help themselves they expect the elected councillors to provide everything for them, too many people with no respect for their neighbours, their community, or their city environment. Drugs, crime, and violence are an issue, sometimes it feels like an ever increasing issue. Resources are limited because the priorities nationally are the wrong ones, and it is always the little things, the visable things that result in the apathy that I see around me, that I myself feel, the litter on the ground, the bins not being emptied enough. The beggers in the street, the state of the City in general.
There is so much to love about Dundee, my family, my 3 or 4 really close friends, the mighty Dees, I actually think we have some really good local councillors, especially the Lib Dem Group, but Dundonians in general need to step up and take more responsibility for their city, and themsleves, how you do that is the real question I guess.
Will any of them be missed – I doubt it. If there is one thing that has been a constant since the Regional Parliament returned it has been the decline in quality of the elected politicians who have sat in it. Pretty much a collection of garbage, very poor, or simply incompetent non entities. We deserve so much better than we have gotten over the years that is clear. The party system right now enforces continuous decline.
Some leave with relief, some with regret, and some with a sense of unfinished business.
Forbes, Yusuf, Ross, and of course the Sturgeon have all done nothing for the colony over the years, they have achieved nothing, changed nothing, they have made our decline worse, our politics more an idiots guide, our regional council a stain. In the case of Sturgeon, not only has she made Scotland a more hateful place, she destroyed the SNP in so many ways, and she destroyed independence, if any one deserves to be regarded poorly by our inglorious history it is that woman, the damage she has caused possibly won’t ever be fixed.
So, no I will not miss of them, I wish pretty much the whole lot of them were going, looking at the candidates for May we are in for more of the same or worse. Holyrood is a sad reflection on our colony, on our politics, and on our people.

Unemployment has been climbing in third world UK – for the last couple of years not because of the Iran war. My daughter moved to England 6 months ago, has been unable to find any job, least of all a graduate one. She gets interviews then discovers she is up against hundreds of people chasing the same job, added to the fact that charities are even wanting experienced volunteers, slave labour basically.
I know I am a grumpy old man with a glass half empty outlook, I accept that I am more to the left than the centre, but right now, England and the colonies are in trouble, real trouble, 1980’s level trouble. In 1983 unemployment reached 10.7% for young people, today it is 16%. I grew up in the 80’s, things were bad, how bad do you think they are right now. How is that 2014 no vote working out for you out there in Scotland, you yes yet, you fucking should be.
Dundee FC need a new stadium – Dens Park is way passed it’s sell by date, it is not a good stadium to go and watch modern football. The on-going football stadium saga for DFC has been going on for years.
I really do think there are just people out there who want the Dees to fail, the nimbies, the so called experts at Transport Scotland who refuse to even really discuss the road planning. Rather than sit down with the club to reach an agreement through discussion the system means that DFC have to come up with expensive plans that they then refuse without saying what would be a compromise, this costs the club hundreds of thousands of pounds. No wonder nothing works in this shithole of a colony, and just another reason why the City of Dundee remains a shit hole in so many ways.
Don’t get me wrong, at my age I don’t really want to live anywhere else, Dundee is my home, most of my family are here, I work here, but Dundee my whole life has been just a missed opportunity where the growth industry has always been incompetence.
