Housing is personal. We all understand the importance of having a safe and adequate place to call home. However, the reality that many Torontonians face is the lack of affordable and sustainable housing, leaving some communities unable to receive equal opportunities to live and succeed. We also recognize the need to develop sustainable, green cities that will mitigate the effects of climate change to ensure a prosperous and resilient Toronto.
Our challenge to you is to find the intersection between these two multi-faceted issues and design innovative and inclusive solutions to bring to the attention of our city’s leaders.

Eligibility
- Any group of students attending university/college in Ontario
- Groups of 2 to 6 students
Requirements
Submission Requirements
Eligible submissions must be made by groups of 2 to 6 university students, all registered on the Google Form and Devpost. Your submission must be a ZIP file on Devpost containing your video or a link to a private youtube video (max 8 minutes) where you and your team present your proposal. All submissions must be submitted by 9:00 am EDT on July 11 to be eligible for prizes. Any supplementary information must be submitted to Devpost in pdf format.
Submission Rights & Display
The hackathon organizers reserve the right to view all submissions. Winners will be contacted after the hackathon and asked if they are comfortable with GreenHouse Hackathon sharing their photos and/or submissions on Instagram. All submissions remain the intellectual property of the creators. Participants are responsible for managing their own privacy on Devpost and making their users anonymous. All submissions will be kept private unless requested by ALL team members.

Does the solution explicitly consider equity as defined in workshops? Does the solution address racial and/or environmental justice? Would implementing the solution increase housing equity? -
Creativity
Is the solution unique and creative, and offers a fresh and innovative perspective? Does the team think outside the box and consider the ideas and concepts presented in a variety of workshops? -
Delivery and Presentation
Is the presentation generally persuasive? Is the presentation clear and engaging? Are the ideas presented easy to follow? Do the graphics add clarity and aid the presentation? Is the presentation visually appealing? -
