GlycoMIP Facilities

GlycoMIP offers facilities in three areas. In addition to GlycoMIP‑supported instruments, users have access to additional synergistic resources, potentially for a fee. Select a facility below to learn more.

Synthesis

Learn more about the Synthesis Facility, which offers on‑demand glycan synthesis using currently available automated technology.

Characterization

Learn more about the Characterization Facility, which offers expert characterization and analysis of polymer structure, intermolecular interactions, and physical properties of glycomaterials.

Modeling

Learn more about the Modeling Facility, which provides atomistic modeling of carbohydrate three‑dimensional structures and input files for molecular dynamics simulations.

About GlycoMIP Facilities

GlycoMIP’s national user facility is housed at Virginia Tech’s Fralin Life Sciences Institute (opens in a new tab) in Blacksburg, Virginia, and at the University of Georgia’s Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (opens in a new tab) in Athens, Georgia.

Services are available to researchers from industry, academia, and government agencies, ranging from expedited service and sample requests to full‑scale collaborative research projects. Contracts can also be arranged to support proprietary research and development needs of private‑sector and international users.
