@bors r+ rollup This fixes the issue on Firefox, but Chrome still shows a flash. Still, it's a clear step forward so let's go ahead and merge and we can separately track down the Chrome issue. Can you remove the "Fixes" annotation since it's not a complete fix? |

Part of #91374.
I simply removed the CSS animation on the visibility, which now makes it all appear at once. I didn't change the CSS animation on the width though, which gives:
