number into the arena via `alloc_str`, but `format_trimmed_number`
returns `Cow::Borrowed` — a slice of the **source** — in the common case
where the number needs no reformatting. Pass the borrowed slice straight
through; only `alloc_str` the owned (reformatted) case.

This mirrors the borrowed-passthrough already shipped for **string**
literals (`CleanedStringLiteralText::fmt`).
