nit: I would consider using addTearDown instead of wrapping the entire test in a try/catch.
If the rest of the test suite already does this I'd understand not changing this specific test.

Thanks for the suggestion! The rest of the test suite is doing this, I'll send a follow-up PR to clean this up.
