…78249) Backport of #78249 to wp/7.0. Resolved cherry-pick conflicts: - packages/edit-post/src/components/meta-boxes/use-meta-box-initialization.js: wp/7.0 reads editor selectors via the public API (the unlock()/private-API refactor landed only on trunk after the branch). Kept that shape and added the disableVisualRevisions dispatch. - packages/editor/src/components/post-revisions-panel/index.js: this file does not exist in wp/7.0 (the inline DataViews revisions panel was added later), so the change was dropped. Only the main Revisions button fallback applies on this branch. Backport of #78249 to
wp/7.0. Closes #78130 on the release branch.When classic meta boxes are registered, the Revisions sidebar control falls back to the classic
revision.phpadmin screen instead of opening the in-editor visual mode.Why?
Restoring via Visual Revisions runs the editor's REST save but not the classic meta box admin-ajax submission, so classic meta values are silently left at their current value. See #78130 and #78249 for context.
