What?

The diff markers minimap (the narrow strip on the right edge of the revisions view) previously used only background color to distinguish between added, removed, and modified blocks. This fails WCAG 1.4.1 (Use of Color), which requires that color not be the sole visual means of conveying information.

How?

Removed blocks: 45° diagonal stripe pattern (classic "struck out / danger" visual cue)
Modified blocks: -45° counter-diagonal stripes (visually distinct from removed, even in grayscale)
Added blocks: solid fill (unchanged — green solid is already a universally understood "new" signal)

Testing Instructions

Create a post with several paragraphs.
Open Revisions view.
Navigate to a revision that has added, removed, and modified blocks.
Observe the minimap strip on the right: each status now has a distinct stripe pattern in addition to its color.

Unfortunately, there are no tokens corresponding to these colors.

This may be open to improvement. Quoting from WCAG SC 1.4.11:

Graphical Objects: Parts of graphics required to understand the content, except when a particular presentation of graphics is essential to the information being conveyed.

However, if the contrast ratio is too high, the stripes may become too prominent. The following shows how it looks when the contrast ratio between dark and light colors is increased to 1:3.

1.4.11 is a bit tricky; but it requires the user to be able to identify a user interface component - and that means "distinguish the interface component from other, similar components". In this case, that's the same as if you had a button with a phone icon next to a button with an email icon, and they were too low contrast to distinguish.

But I'll note that it's not necessarily required for the difference to extend the full height of the control - there just needs to be a portion of the control that meets the standards. So there could be a gradient that fades the colors further down the controls, so that only the top and bottom have high contrast, and that would still meet standards. (I'm not sure what that would look like, though...)

Another option to make that less jarring would be to have uneven stripes; if the primary color was 75% of the control body, that might make it more manageable, too.

Increase the proportion of the primary color to 75%
Make colors slightly darker.
