Summary
Add anti-thrashing protection to prevent infinite compression loops where each pass saves <10% of tokens.
Problem
When compression barely reduces context (e.g. most tokens are in the protected head/tail),
should_compress()re-triggers on the next turn. The compressor runs, saves almost nothing, and the cycle repeats — burning LLM summary calls that produce no benefit.Issues: #9561, #499
