This issue proposes removing botan2, updating all dependent package to botan3 if possible, or remove unmaintained applications.

The botan2 library does not build with GCC-15 breaking when upgrading the default compiler from GCC-14.
Version 2 of botan has been end-of-life since January of 2025, as noticed in #440456 (comment) and wont be updated any more, with the maintainers recommending updating to botan 3.

#446100 patches Botan2 to build with GCC-15, to minimise friction until botan2 has been fully deprecated
