Summary of Changes

Hello @allyoucanmap, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a reported issue where the tab switching functionality within the details panel was broken. It resolves this by implementing a robust state management solution using Redux, ensuring that the selected tab's state is consistently tracked and updated across interactions, thereby fixing the navigation behavior.

Highlights

  • State Management Integration: Introduced Redux state management for the DetailsPanel component to track and manage the currently selected tab. This involves importing new selectors (getDetailPanelTab) and action creators (setDetailPanelTab) from the @mapstore/framework library.
  • Component Prop Updates: The DetailsPanel functional component now accepts selectedTab and onSelectTab as props, which are then passed down to its child component, DetailsInfo (which is enhanced with withScrollableTabs).
  • Redux Connection: The ConnectedDetailsPanel component has been updated to map the selectedTab state from the Redux store using getDetailPanelTab and to dispatch the setDetailPanelTab action via the onSelectTab prop, ensuring the tab state is centrally managed.

Code Review

This pull request fixes the broken tab switching issue by migrating the tab state management to Redux. I've provided a suggestion to reset the tab state on resource change to prevent potential UI bugs and improve the user experience.

Moving the selected tab state to Redux means it will persist when the displayed resource changes. This can lead to issues if the new resource doesn't have the previously selected tab. To avoid this, consider resetting the selected tab whenever the resource changes using a useEffect hook in the DetailsPanel component:

import React, { useEffect } from 'react';

function DetailsPanel({ resource: resourceProp, onSelectTab, ...rest }) {
    const resource = parseCatalogResource(resourceProp);

    useEffect(() => {
        onSelectTab(undefined);
    }, [resource?.pk, onSelectTab]);

    // ... component logic
}
