I can’t see myself in mirrors nor do I have regrets. There’s no reflection either way.

10 Years Later

Ten years ago today I started this blog. I had no idea what I was doing but wanted a place to write things and maybe connect with a few people. At that time I was very much into massive open online courses (MOOCs) and thought I’d blog about what I learned there. I also wrote a story or two, and a bit about my dog. But I soon learned that posting regularly about personal stuff just isn’t my thing and I hadn’t found a voice. I had just quit writing fanfiction and wasn’t in any fandom any longer, I had no idea what to write about but did want to write.

Eventually I ran across Rochelle Wisoff-Fields’ Friday Fictioneers, and the rest is history. Whenever I could, I participated and I still do. It tickles ideas to the surface and keeps the writing brain flexible.

For your entertainment I’m reblogging my first post. Enjoy

A spider’s web is a thing of great beauty. Unless you’re the one trapped of course: struggling, working hard to free yourself until the weaver hits you unawares and sucks you dry.

I’m a lousy cook, but decent at baking, which is why I’m tasked with baking for the village once a month. I don’t mind; everyone has to contribute. I learned from my mother how to work with a wood stove. Yes, I’m that old.
