🌟 Meet Russ Walker, Head of Development for Maple Development Group, our featured member for #MembershipMonday! 🏡 Here's a look at his journey:
🏠 His start in the industry: Russ has been in the home building industry since 2000, starting in an entry-level position building starter homes in suburban areas. He later developed luxury townhome communities in areas like West University, Bellaire and River Oaks, which eventually led him to found Walker Residential, where he focused on fee-developing custom homes and townhomes. That journey led him to Maple Development, where he’s been since its founding in 2018.
👷 GHBA: Russ has been a member for over 20 years, starting with his first job in the industry to today. He got involved with the GHBA to further his education in development and homebuilding, expand his professional network and give back to the industry. Russ is a HOME-PAC trustee at the club level and regularly attends Developer Council meetings. He holds several NAHB designations including Graduate Master Builder, Certified Graduate Builder and Certified Green Professional.
🤝 Charity Work: Outside of GHBA, Russ has been actively involved with the Special Needs Ministry at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (MDUMC). He also supports a Christian donation organization and sponsors an endowment fund at LSU that provides scholarships for students.
🎣 Passions: During his free-time, Russ enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, fishing and hunting.
🏡 GHBA’s Impact: “GHBA has been a valuable part of my professional journey. HOME-PAC and Developers Council have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I also appreciate GHBA serving as a platform to give back to the industry," he said. "I look forward to continuing to learn, contribute and collaborate through GHBA’s programs and community." ...
