List Builder Intro

1. Introduction

The List Builder is a feature of the Resource Database and the Events Finder. It is designed to make it easy for professionals to build a customized resource list for a particular client or common situation. One of the biggest benefits of Resource Lists build by the List Builder feature is that the resources on them stay updated and they are very easy to share by email or text. you can even print them out and hand them to someone. 2. Types of lists you can make with the List Builder

The list builder lets you collect resources and events into one Resource List. When you’re searching the Resource Database or the Events Finder you can click on any resource to put it on a list you’ve created. 

3. Who is the List Builder for?

The List Builder is designed for professionals in San Juan County who frequently connect people to help. This includes, but isn’t limited to, roles such as medical doctors, therapists, substance use counselors, social workers, case managers, peer counselors or advocates.

4. How do I get access to the List Builder feature?

Accessing the List Builder feature requires a membership. We are in a beta-testing phase. 30 organizations in San Juan County have signed up and are participating in the beta-testing. We’re also inviting licensed professionals who work with clients in San Juan County to sign up as beta-testers.

Build a Resource List

A membership includes the ability to use the Resource Lists Builder.

1.Build lists while searching our Resource Database or Events Finder

You can search the Resource Database or the Events Finder by selecting them in the main menu at the top right. While searching you’ll see a blue “Lists” button in the search results and on the page for each individual event. Clicking that button to add an Event to a list.

 

     

    2. Create a resource list

    If you haven’t made a list yet click “Save to New Resource List.”

    You’ll be able to add a title to the resource list, write a description and decide whether you want the list to be Public or non-Public. If it’s public anyone can see it on the list of resources or events on the Get Help website. If you choose non-Public it won’t be shown in the feed of new resource lists.

       

      2. Go to "My Lists" to see your feed of Resource Lists

      At the top right of the page click on the main menu where it says “Lists” and then click “My Lists.”

      If you’re on a phone or tablet you’ll see three horizontal lines like this:

      Clicking on it will reveal the main menu. Simply click the menu items. Then click “My Lists.”

      Share Resource Lists

      A great way to share customized Resource Lists for a specific person or common situation.

      1. Visit a Resource List page and click "Email" or "SMS"

      You can share any list with others. Simply visit the page of the list and find click the “Email” button to send an email or the “SMS” to send a text.

      The person will be able to visit the link and see the resources you added.

       

      2. Write and send the email or text

      Clicking the “Email” button automatically starts an email for you with a link to the search results and the subject line “Seach.” Choose who you want to send it to and send the email.

      Clicking the “SMS” button will open your default text app if you have one on your phone or computer. A link to the search results will automatically be added to the text. Then just select who you want to share it with and send the message.

      3. The person receives the Resource List

      The person will receive the link to the Resource List.

      When you add or remove a resource from the list it will update the resources the person sees next time they visit the link to the list. This means you don’t have to send them a new link to the list, just update it on our website.

      We work hard to keep the details on each resource accurate so you can have confidence the information you share with people is up-to-date.
