FISH

Georgia Rivers

Georgia rivers are teeming with life from the cold, clear trout streams of the North Georgia mountains to the big, slow rivers below the Fall Line.

There are well over a million anglers of all ages across the state. Fish Georgia Rivers offers anglers access to kayak fishing training, beginner fishing trips, and education to protect the rich abundance of fish native to Georgia rivers.

Kayak Fishing Training

Fish Georgia Rivers teaches new anglers and avid fisherman alike.

Intro to Kayak Fishing classes are taught by nationally certified ACA Kayak and Kayak Fishing instructors to teach anglers top safety skills and essential fishing techniques.

Fish Georgia Rivers also trains new kayak fishing instructors to expand the number of leaders across our region who hold national certification as kayak fishing instructors with the American Canoe Association.

Fish Georgia’s Rich Biodiversity

Georgia — along with its neighbors in the Southeast — is home to some of the richest diversity of fish and other aquatic life in the world!

The beauty of this diversity is brilliantly illustrated in places like Georgia’s Conasauga River in the North Georgia mountains, where 76 native fish species dart in the mountain streams. With a diverse range of rivers and lakes, Georgia is home to ten native species of bass and is widely known as the bass capital of the nation.

Crescent Kayak Smallie

Georgia Rivers – The “Cause behind the Craft”

Georgia Rivers is proud to be selected as the “cause behind the craft” for the launch of the new Crescent Smallie, a throw ‘n go fishing kayak.  A portion of Crescent Smallie proceeds will support our work to protect public access to all the places we love to paddle and fish.
