Youth Mentorship, a program under UC Berkeley Pilipino Academic Student Services (PASS), has been working with FEC Galing Bata for over a decade. The program trains and sends mentors everyday to the afterschool program, where they work with the Galing Bata students. More than just tutors, the youth mentors become Ates and Kuyas of the students, creating bonds that last throughout their involvement with the program and beyond. Over the years, the Youth Mentorship program continues growing and developing in light of its mission statement—“Dedicated to empowering Pilipino/Pilipino-American youth by instilling the passion to achieve their full potential for academic, personal, and social growth.”
