About Galaxy One
Welcome to the International GALAXY ONE Hackathon by ACES, Milky Way Studios, and CyberNova. This event is beginner-friendly and organizers will provide all competitors with necessary resources. Event Cash Prize Pool to be increased; other event prizes TBA.
Join us in this international hackathon to build your very own game, 2D or 3D art, game engine, assets & scripts, or simulators! Earn international awards, build your coding/technical experience, and have fun!
Competitors may participate individually or in a team. The winner of this year’s hackathon will receive a full-ride INTERNSHIP to Milky Way Studios, a national game development company. The hackathon will further offer contractual-paid corporate internships with ACES and other externship opportunities.

Prior to the hackathon, additional forms will be sent out where you may specify your team (up to 5 members). Individual competitors are also welcome; however we highly recommend participating with at least 2-3 team members to create a stronger social experience!
Requirements
Build Your Own Game
Build and sell your own game individually or in a team of up to 5. From web games, board games to indie horror games and simulators, what you create is completely up you! This is the time to build the game you've always wanted and envisioned; while earning international prizes, awards, and the career opportunities of your dreams.
What to Submit
Sumbission to the hackathon is dependent on your participating category. Game designers will be expected to submit a completed game with all relevant files and assets for review. Participants in the 2D/3D art design and modeling categories will submit their completed projects to the hackathon. Further submission rules will be released as the hackathon begins.
Prizes
Internship at Milky Way Studios
Up to 10 Winners of the Galaxy One Hackathon will be granted an internship opportunity at Milky Way Studios, a national game development company.
They'll be able to work on Milky Way's newest releases and upcoming gaming projects in their Research & Development team.
Corporate Internship at ACES
Up to 10 Winners at the Galaxy One Hackathon will be granted an opportunity for a contractual paid internship at ACES! In this internship offer, after completing your first growth project with us (TBD in your position) you will be granted an opportunity to earn a bonus of up to $1,000 cash.
Internships at ACES are centred around business, finance, outreach & growth, and branch development with a unique twist of tech.
The Wolfram Award
Up to the Top 25 participants are eligible to win The Wolfram Award, providing an annual professional license to Wolfram|One which has a full retail value of $1660 each. This license grants access to 5 000 Wolfram Alpha API calls and 50 000 cloud credits.
The Interview Award
Up to 50 individuals can receive a Full 7-Day Course for Interview Preparation offered by Interview Cake. Past alumni have landed jobs in FAANG and Fortune 500 Tech Companies through succeeding in the most challenging interviews.
The Ground Robotics Award
Up to 1 winner selected by Ground Robotics will be eligible for to receive The Ground Robotics Award which is supplemented with a $200USD Amazon Gift Card.
ACES Entrepreneurship Award
Up to 25 individual winning competitors are eligible to join the ACES's youth MBA style Course for the September batch with a full-ride $1200 tuition scholarship. This award is only provided to projects which provide an outstanding display of creativity and includes a business model pitch for selling their game (this should be part of your video pitch if you're interested in being eligible for this award).
Wolfram|One Standard Access
All participants that registered prior to distribution of this prize will be eligible to win monthly Wolfram|One Standard Access, featuring the complete Wolfram Language and Knowledgebase, FreeCDF Deployment, 5000 Wolfram|Alpha API calls, 5000 Cloud Credits, 2 installations per user, and 2 GB of Cloud Storage
Wolfram Scholarship Award
Up To 5 Students that submit a project utilizing the Wolfram API will be eligible for a $500 scholarship if they complete an application to Wolfram’s Summer Programs, are accepted, and post their project in the Wolfram Community. Only up to 5 Students (not teams) in the hackathon will be provided with this information on how to proceed.
Top 30 Game Projects
Up to 30 Game Projects will be awarded up to $350 each worth of ACES membership eligibility to participate in exclusive international events with CEOs, software developers, and recruiters. Including other internship & scholarship opportunities and access to international competitions. Amount may vary depending on number team members.
Shalom Japheth Award of Distinction
Awarded to any given team meets a mystery criteria by the Shalom Japheth foundation. Provided only if the criteria is met.

Game Design
The competitor's game is designed in a creative and aesthetic manner, featuring well thought out scenes, strong use of assets, and an immersive gaming experience. -
Story Design (if applicable)
The competitor's game features a unique storyline with a high degree of creativity. The story contributes to the game's overall atmosphere and adds depth to the player experience. -
Art Design
The competitor's game features creative graphics and art styles. This criteria is not evaluated based on the realism of your graphics; judges recognize abstract art, creative graphic choices, and minimalistic styles. -
Sound Design (if applicable)
The competitor's game features unique sound effects and/or soundtracks which contribute to a desired player experience. -
Programming Efficiency
The code used to run the competitor's game displays a high level of efficiency and programming expertise.
