HDR

So you may be wondering what all this HDR stuff is about. Well basically it’s a digital blending technique, used to blend a number of differently exposed shots of the same image to produce a perfectly exposed image.

There are however different levels of HDR from subtle to extreme and I tend to opt for the more subtle end of the processing, in an attempt to produce an image more representative of what the eye sees.

Amazing collection! I’ve been at HDR too and it’s starting to pay off.

  3. I haven’t been able to get any images I like using PhotoMatix, but maybe I’m doing something wrong. Your images are amazing!

    • Thanks again… Well I’d have to confess to feeling my HDR processing has moved on further since posting these images, but it does take some messing with the settings to get the result that pleases you… I still mess about with each shot I do…

  4. You HDR pictures are Wicked Brian. You’ve inspired me to try HDR again. It just feels like a lot of work. How much time do you spend in post processing?

    • Thanks so much Charlie… I do try to keep it real subtle these days, but whether it’s HDR or not, I’ll probably spend about only 5 – 10 minutes processing a normal shot for publishing… I’ll only spend longer if I’m trying to achieve something creative, or add mood to an image…
