seen: on my way from Beijing to the Great Wall in Badaling - April 2009This picture was taken quickly and therefor it's blurry and badly framed, but I'm still sharing it like this. In my opinion it suits the journey :) It was taken on our way from Beijing to the Great Wall, in the back of a shabby van. Hah, it was such a weird little trip! That day I was travelling together with my Sister, her friend and two random tourist guys from Austria (I think). We visited a temple on the way, but were also dumped in three different tourist places/factories (even though we had been assured they woulnd't do that) and one strange dining place, but alltogether it was a pretty fun & memorable day :)

( there's a lot moreCollapse )I'm not sure why exactly, but I find the whole idea of abandoned themeparks very fascinating. And while I admit they could be perfect backgrounds for horror movies, I reckon there's something incredibly sad and baffling about them too. A little while ago, I found these two interesting articles:
FYI, in the not-so-scary-because-it's-actually-open-a
gain-category, I really want to visit Glen Echo Park one day! It looks gorgeous.
