So I say I'll post more and then it takes another month? Oops. I saw this movie back in February, but IMO it's the perfect one to watch in this summer weather so I'm telling you all to watch it now if you haven't already.

When Margot, 28, meets Daniel, their chemistry is intense and immediate. But Margot suppresses her sudden attraction; she is happily married to Lou (Seth Rogen), a cookbook writer. When Margot learns that Daniel lives across the street from them, the certainty about her domestic life shatters. (from rottentomatoes.com)

While this description doesn't sound very original maybe, I think the movie really was. It felt fresh somehow? As in, "hey, I haven't seen this kind of movie before" but it was still recognizable and believable. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm not going to say much more. I will say that my feelings after seeing this were just all over the place and I love, love, love the atmosphere & style too.

So I made this list two years ago? But never got around to posting it - I suck! And even though the person I made it for has no longer an interest in these, I thought maybe someone else would have? Idek. These are just some of my favourite Christmas/New Year's/Wintery fanfics. Both Arthur/Merlin and Bradly/Colin. They make me want to wear thick socks, snuggle up in a blanket and sip lots and lots of mugs of hot tea.

This evening I saw something greyish through the window, bumping along on our lawn, disappearing out of sight behind the wall of our house. At first I thought it was an odd bird or a rabbit walking in a funny way (I just saw a flash really, I do know my animals!) but it turned out to be this little guy:

on my way from the veranda to the living room - 17th of July 2012, around 9 pm

It walked right by our backdoor to sniffle at some shoes, nibble at one and get into two of them. crappy pictures of the shoe adventures and one extra picCollapse )

I'm sure that this won't be the last time I share a picture for this challenge that is taken in or around a train. ♥

on my way home from Antwerp - somewhere around the beginning of March 2012

Have a song to go along with this.

seen: on my way from Beijing to the Great Wall in Badaling - April 2009

This picture was taken quickly and therefor it's blurry and badly framed, but I'm still sharing it like this. In my opinion it suits the journey :) It was taken on our way from Beijing to the Great Wall, in the back of a shabby van. Hah, it was such a weird little trip! That day I was travelling together with my Sister, her friend and two random tourist guys from Austria (I think). We visited a temple on the way, but were also dumped in three different tourist places/factories (even though we had been assured they woulnd't do that) and one strange dining place, but alltogether it was a pretty fun & memorable day :)

So yes, about the actual building I took a picture of. It's not something very Chinese, is it? It's actually a theme park called Wonderland that was never finished. It's been abandoned since 1998 and has been reclaimed by locals since. The wall in my picture is only a little part of it, there's a lot moreCollapse )

I'm not sure why exactly, but I find the whole idea of abandoned themeparks very fascinating. And while I admit they could be perfect backgrounds for horror movies, I reckon there's something incredibly sad and baffling about them too. A little while ago, I found these two interesting articles:

FYI, in the not-so-scary-because-it's-actually-open-again-category, I really want to visit Glen Echo Park one day! It looks gorgeous.

I hadn't planned on waiting quite this long with my first post. Oops.

seen: on my way to work - somewhere in the beginning of 2012

It's not like I had never seen one of these, but I still had to turn my head when this orange-striped green vehicle zoomed past. I thought "Waaaaaiiittt - is that a UFO?" Just for a split second, but still. It's actually a recumbent bicycle, but I had never seen one quite like this. I don't think it was open like the other bananas on wheels bikes I had seen before and it even had an emergency vehicle light on top (which wasn't on). It almost flew past me so naturally I couldn't take a picture.

Next up: Ghost Wonderland
