I've gotten a few complaints this week that activation emails aren't being sent out. After testing it myself, I know the problem is not from the forums. I believe hotmail, and potentially some other free, or web based email utilities are blocking the email. Why? I don't know, nor do I care.
So, instead of having users sign up and complain that their accounts can't be activated (which requires my intervention) I have banned hotmail email addresses. For people who have already signed up with hotmail addresses, you're okay.
For people who may want to change your email in the future, don't use a hotmail address, not only will you not get the email, but you might get banned for the address too.
If anyone asks why, just tell them it's because of what I stated above. #1. You won't get the activation email anyway, and #2. I don't have time to manually activate accounts myself.
If anyone needs an invite for a gmail address, just let me know and I'll send those out. I have plenty of invites and I'm sure other people here do as well.
