From EX-SKF:

Fort Calhoun Nuke Plant: Borated Water in Reactor, Spent Fuel Pool, Normal Procedure, Says Plant CEO

Bits and pieces about the Fort Calhoun Nuke Plant in Nebraska:

They are using boric acid in the reactor and the spent fuel pool (CNN);

The “waterproof” turns out to be “aqua dams” and levees in front of the buildings that house key systems (CNN);

Spent fuel dry casks are outside the flood protected area “because they are sealed and bolted down” (Iowa Independent);

2/3 of the active fuel rods are still inside the reactor

Two Nebraska Nuclear Plants Partially Submerged by Missouri Floodwaters + UPDATES

17 06 2011

Ignored by the Mainstream Media two nuclear power facilities in Nebraska which were designated temporary restricted no fly zones by the FAA in early June due to ‘hazards’. The FAA restrictions, ‘effectively immediately’, ‘until further notice’. The Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant, currently sandbagged against the floodwaters of the Missouri River, and, the Cooper Nuclear Station, located on the Missouri River. According to the NRC, there’s no need to panic. If so, then why the No Fly Zones due to ‘hazards’ issued by the FAA?  . . . . Nebraska nuclear plant meltdown possible? FAA restricts airspace

Above article has many good related links. Some about the status of upstream DAMS. This short clip (from LAST WEEK!) shows massive water dump from the Black Eagle dam – http://youtu.be/1WFkg-COBXA

Elsewhere along the Missouri/Mississippi  River flooding  water is  going right under sandbags.  Not filmed at the nuke plant but same type of sand bags. Here is a video of it.  Sandbag walls holding now may fail when the big snow melt comes down through those upriver dams.
