Atmospheric Dispersion of Xenon-133 and Caesium-137 After Japan Earthquake

Science Abscract on the radiactive plume from Japan, 3-11, –

[snip] . . . Exactly during and following the period of the strongest 137Cs emissions on 14 and 15 March as well as after another period with strong emissions on 19 March, the radioactive plume was advected over Eastern Honshu Island, where precipitation deposited a large fraction of 137Cs on land surfaces. The plume was also dispersed quickly over the entire Northern Hemisphere, first reaching North America on 15 March and Europe on 22 March. In general, simulated and observed concentrations of 133Xe and 137Cs both at Japanese as well as at remote sites were in good quantitative agreement with each other. Altogether, we estimate that 6.4 TBq of 137Cs, or 19% of the total fallout until 20 April, were deposited over Japanese land areas, while most of the rest fell over the North Pacific Ocean. Only 0.7 TBq, or 2% of the total fallout were deposited on land areas other than Japan.

URGENT! Fukushima Reactors Smoking, Water Shortage in Tokyo, Radiation Spreads

27 05 2011

FROM –

Lucas Whitfield Hixon

Japan’s damaged nuclear plant in Fukushima has been emitting radioactive iodine and caesium at levels approaching those seen in the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident in 1986. Austrian researchers have used a worldwide network of radiation detectors – designed to spot clandestine nuclear bomb tests – to show that iodine-131 is being released at daily levels 73 per cent of those seen after the 1986 disaster. The daily amount of caesium-137 released from Fukushima Daiichi is around 60 per cent of the amount released from Chernobyl. . . . (more)

Fukushima = Level 7 x 3 (!!)

Alarming radioactivity level update on Global Research’s website

“Austrian government’s Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) found that the total amount of unstable radionuclides Iodine-131 and Caesium-137 released between March 11 and March 23 has been so high that the Fukushima crisis already equates to three INES 7 incidents.”

ADDITIONAL NEWS

And the Daily Mail reports hapless evacuees are being re-victimized by confused “aid” workers –

An eight-year-old girl is among scores of people refused medical help or shelter in Japan because of fears they could be contaminated by radiation and could pass it on to others.

People who have been made homeless as a result of the leakage of radiation at the Fukushima nuclear plant, 135 miles north of Tokyo, have to be screened and then given an ‘all clear’ certificate.

If they do not have a certificate, they are being told they cannot be allowed into evacuation centres amid fears that they might be a ‘hibakusha’ – a person contaminated by radiation. . . .

James Pilant blogs some truth about evil TEPCO:

Fukushima Gov. Slams TEPCO, Govt for ‘Betrayal’ (via TheResistance)

Betrayed.

Exactly right. The people of Fukushima were told those plants were perfectly safe. They were told they were the way to economic success. They were told that the power plants would bring prosperity and jobs for decades. . .

Is there something fishy about these Japan quakes?

Richard Koshimizu thinks so. His blog points out the close proximity of many quakes and shocks to each other.

Not being a geophysicist we think this claim can be explored by looking at seismic data released by the Japanese government here – http://www.mext.go.jp/english/radioactivity_level/detail/1304082.htm.
