Baby

If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

The one word I would like to be removed from general usage is baby, or the variation of it, that is babe. Years ago the word baby was used for a baby not a two hundred pounds grown woman, or man. I want to ask why? Why it’s used, I simply can’t understand. There are tons of endearment which one can use.

When I hear it other than for what it should mean I gag at the usage of it. I think it is childish. It doesn’t make one look cute, or innocent, or look younger than what one is. Maybe I dislike it, because it’s cooed out when company is present, and it looks so contrived.

A Looming Journey

Why is it that I don’t enjoy journeys now? Maybe because it has something to do with getting older. Things which used to be easy, now require more effort, enthusiasm and energy. I dread even going to Dallas which is four, and a half hours away, and you can imagine the unease I feel while going to home country.

A few months ago my step brother who lives in Australia invited me to his son’s wedding. At first I was enthusiastic about the whole thing. But then I contemplated the three, or four switching of planes, and the endless journey, I backed off. It was too harrowing for me to consider going there. Although If I had gone, I would have probably enjoyed seeing Australia.

There lies ahead the packing to do, and gifts for family, and friends. And then the worries about my plants , how they will survive without me? Most of all my toddler grandson who cries Da (he can’t say Dado yet) at my bedroom door when he gets scolding from his mother, or father. He comes to get an ally, and when I open the door, he is crouching down with his forehead to the floor.

Here doing mischief in my bathroom. The soap getting wasted, and all the detergent had been spilled on the floor.

Kindness

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

Some of them I have already written about in my earlier phase of blogging, and so I won’t repeat.

I would like to mention someone else kindnesses to me. Every year I go back to my birth country to collect pension in lieu of my late husband who served in the army. I had gone to the market . I was carrying several packages. I put them down wearily in one shop to purchase another item I remembered. My arms were aching, and I was feeling extremely tired.

At the end of transaction I turned to pick my things when I realized that a man was holding them. For a moment I was afraid he would run off. He kept walking , and I followed him to the car park. My driver got out, and the man put my purchases in the back seat. He quickly turned to go without a word.

Another time I was standing at the road side waiting for the traffic to slow down, so I could cross the road. No one was slowing down. Seeing my predicament a man on a motorcycle placed his motorcycle sideways in front of the traffic, and shielding me he walked his motorcycle alongside me till I reached the other side.

Today was my husband’s death anniversary. He died on August 2, 2012. May Allah grant him a place in Jannah. Ameen.

Games

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

As time changes so does the choice of games. For outside games the first requirement is that there should be someone, or others to play with. You can’t do on your own.

I resort to my iPad for relaxation. The current ones are Jigsaw Puzzle🧩, Wordscapes, and Mahjong. The Mahjong, I have added recently. In the beginning, I didn’t even like it one bit. It was the lure of the tiles, but somehow it has started to grow upon me. I always reach the topmost position, but fall back not playing the whole day. I crawl to the top to see the next day, I have fallen behind.

Wordscapes is an older version of Words game. During playing it keeps reminding me to download the newer one, which I keep on ignoring.

Jigsaw Puzzle is the one I play the most. Over the years I have acquired quite a collection.

I have bought some of the puzzles, while others I got through acquiring gold coins while playing. When I have enough of the coins, I buy more for free. Sometimes there are deals where the price has been reduced, so I buy the ones I like. The most money I paid was for the Bob Ross collection of paintings. I just couldn’t wait for a deal, or reduced price. Anyway no deal, or reduction of price came through.

When I was new to Jigsaw Puzzle, I would quickly buy new games I liked. Now older, and wiser I wait for a deal, or after accumulating enough coins through playing to get them free.

Surgery

Have you ever had surgery? What for?

Yes, too many. Removal of Gall bladder, appendix, hysterectomy, and prolapse of urinary bladder done twice. The first one was when my children were very young. I wasn’t apprehensive about the surgery, but was afraid to die, and leave my children motherless.

Hysterectomy was too painful. The first night was a nightmare. Without painkillers, I kept crying the whole night. The doctor should have her head examined.

You keep coming up on incompetent doctors, and such was my case when I had my first surgery for the prolapse. It wasn’t done properly, with the result I had six long years of misery. Finally Allah took pity on me, and I found a doctor who corrected my condition.

I hope, and pray I never have to resort to surgery for the remaining years of my life. Ameen.

Justice

What public figure do you disagree with the most?

I disagree with all those politicians who are turning a blind eye to the genocide in Gaza. I wish that for a moment—- just a moment they think it’s happening to them, their children, their homes, their families. All the world is screaming at them to stop ✋, but they are busy in their lies which sprout from their mouths day after day, while people are dying of hunger, or by bombs. It looks they were born without a conscience. They are going to live forever. Their meeting with God won’t take place.

Please do see this video of which I’m posting a link:

This can happen here too.

The happenings in Gaza weren’t enough heartbreaking for me when I learnt that India has attacked Pakistan. First they concocted a false story of Pakistan killing of people in Kashmir. On that pretext they started bombing Pakistan. When a general of Indian army told everyone that the killings were done by Indians themselves, he was removed from his post. Modi the prime minister of India is hell bent in his hatred of Muslims. It seems he has taken to the idea of killing Muslims from Netanyahu to bolster up his chances of reelection.

The Indian Air Force dropped a bomb on a Masjid near the border, killing all the young children who lived there for studies, saying that it harbored terrorists. Probably the young children looked terrorists to Modi. How can anyone sane think that poor children who live in Madrasas to study the Quranic teachings can be terrorists? A Talib is a person who seeks learning. The collective name for more than one student is Taliban. The western media has twisted it to mean terrorists .

Do you think that Christians who gather on Sundays in Churches go there to learn to murder people? Or people of other religions go to their places of worship are there to learn how to kill. A masjid ( most write it mosque which is an incorrect name for it) is just a place for worshiping Allah ( the correct name for God). Muslims go there to pray five times a day. It’s enjoined on male Muslims to pray in masjid, while female Muslims can pray at home.

It’s fortunate that Pakistan was able to defend itself. Five Indian jets were destroyed, and one was captured. Now drone attacks are happening.

As per latest news there is a truce. Hope good sense prevails upon Modi, and he stops attacking Pakistan. Live, and let live, that should be the motto. The Indian media in its’ hatred is churning out lies. May Allah guide it towards truth. Ameen.

Moment in Time

Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?

I’m always at a loss as what to say when someone comes at me with catty remarks . First of all I become bewildered 😧, as to why this is happening? I’m not a rude person, so I never expect rudeness.

The correct response comes to mind when the moment is over. Many a times I wish I had a ready reply. It’s the timing to reply in kind to the verbal offense, showing that you are not secretly burning to blow the face of the offender to smithereens.

I simply wish I could make a verbal reply at the right time, that would be great.

Pope Francis’s Last Words

It’s disheartening to see that the US government is doing nothing to stop the killings in the land of Palestine. The Zionist regime of Israel cold bloodily exterminating the people in Gaza, and US, Arabs look on.

Now the Zionists are extending the war to Iran, so that it can divert the world’s attention away from what’s going on in Gaza. The US is rushing it’s war paraphernalia nearer to Iran ready to kill the Muslims, and killing it’s own young ones (someone’s precious kids) just to aid the Zionist in its’ war mongering. May Allah guide these misguided humans, so that people can live in Peace. Ameen.

Even the Pope called for Peace before his death.
