Hand hygiene

Before and after attending to your Ostomy pouch or urology care product you should thoroughly wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them on a clean hand towel. This will reduce the risk of bacteria being spread throughout your home and prevent disease.

Shower / Bath

You can take a shower or bath with or without your pouch. It won’t harm your stoma to have air, soap or water near the opening. You should choose a time when your bowel is less active to wash. It’s not a problem to leave your pouch on while bathing either.
