Summary: Six months ago Jensen made the decision to make a new start after a bad break up, and now he finds himself not in his native Texas, but in Nashville, Tennessee, completely alone for the first time in his life. He’s the new English teacher at school where he meets Colin, the kid who makes an impression on him in more ways than one! ;)
He’s heard about an itch that junkies have which is only relieved by getting a fix, and Colin imagines he has some small idea of how they must feel, right now. He’s restless and he has an ache in his chest like there’s something missing. He feels sick to his stomach when he eats and can’t concentrate on anything except this craving he has to simply be with Jensen...like an itch under his skin. It’s obvious to him that the older man has become his drug of choice and ordinarily Colin would be happy to be addicted because he knows that his next hit won’t be far away, but right now he’s in serious withdrawal and it’s driving him insane. It’s almost a month since he spent the night at Jensen’s place and he’s desperate to get that quality time together again. Falling asleep wrapped in his lover’s arms is something he wants much more of in the future, but for now he’d settle for a simple, comforting hug.
It’s Sunday evening before the final week of school before the Christmas break and Jensen’s class itself isn’t happening because of exams, but he will be sitting his English paper in Jensen’s classroom, which is a real kick in the balls if you ask him… so close but yet so far away! The only other chance he’ll have to physically see the man before school ends for the year is in the cafeteria or the halls, and then it will be a case of look but don’t touch. Be polite, don’t acknowledge anything that other teachers and students wouldn’t, don’t draw attention. After school finishes Jensen will be heading back to Dallas for a family Christmas, something Colin’s been trying not to think about because on top of everything else, the idea of Jensen being so far away gives him palpitations.
With Herculean effort he forces himself off the bed and downstairs to the dinner table, only because his mom’s been calling to him for at least five minutes and soon she’ll come and drag him out. He’s aware he’s being overdramatic when he flops down into the chair and lets out a huge, put upon sigh, but that’s just how he feels. So far his mood has gone unchallenged but evidently that little luxury has come to an abrupt end.
“What’s with you?” his mom asks in an impatient tone, sliding the loaded plate in his direction.
He shrugs one shoulder without looking at her and picks up his fork, shoveling some carrots into his mouth to avoid talking. He’s doing his best not to think about it, let alone talk… he’s so strung out he really doesn’t trust himself to stop if he starts. The only word on a constant loop in his head is ‘Jensen’ and if he says it... well, he’s fucked, and not in the way he wants to be!
“Don’t give me that shit!” she snaps, before letting out a sigh, sitting in the chair next to him and reaching for his hand, “C’mon kiddo, talk to me.”
“It’s nothing,” he lies, knowing he sounds sullen, but he’s a teenager for fuck’s sake, that’s supposed to be his default mood, “‘m just tired.”
“Tired, huh?” she sounds more than a little sceptical, “So it has nothing to do with this mysterious Cedric character?”
Colin feels his heartbeat pick up, why can’t she just let it go? “Mommmm,” he whines, “shut up!” he looks up to glare at her only to see a fond smile on her face, “What?” he says, confused.
“I’m not blind, honey, you’re the walking definition of ‘love sick’ these past few weeks. Is he…” she squeezes his hand, gently, “not as keen as he was?”
The teen pulls his hand away, “None of your business!”
Kim is looking at him with that patented mom look of concern on her face, now, “Aw, don’t be like that, sweetie. You know you can talk to me, if you don’t want to that’s fine, too, but don’t expect me not to be worried. A few weeks ago you were all goofy smiles with your phone permanently in your hand - I honestly don’t know how your thumbs work that fast to type like you do, by the way - and yet, now...” she leaves it open and the teen has been on the receiving end of this tactic before, it’s her way of trying to get him to fill in the blanks.
“Sorry,” he mumbles, “I’m...” he runs a hand through his hair and tries to find the best way to keep the conversation as short as possible without arousing suspicion, “I guess I’m just nervous for exams and pissed off at not being able to spend as much time as I want to with...Cedric.” Lame, but true, at least. He bites his lip, looking down at his plate where he’s pushing pieces of chicken around the pool of gravy desperately hoping she’d read between the lines and take his tone in the way it was meant, which was very much ‘now can you shut the fuck up, please?!’
“Honey, you’re more than prepared for exams so why don’t you tell me all about this Cedric? How long have you been dating? Did you meet him at school? You’re not giving me anything to work with here, baby!”
Colin groans as loud as he can, dropping his forehead down on the table and covering his ears with his hands to drown out some of the one sided game of Twenty Questions.
Jensen pulls up outside the school at 6.03am, shuts of the engine and sighs. It feels like he spends half of his time sighing the past few weeks. He’s been up since 4am, awake earlier and couldn’t stand being in the house any longer. He knows it’s crazy but the place feels empty without Colin there. He feels exhausted, mentally and physically drained again as he’s only had two good nights sleep in the past month. The first of course was the night Colin stayed over, and then the night after because he was still relaxed, riding the high, plus Colin’s scent was still on the pillowcase so in a sappy way it felt like he was still there in spirit.
Since having a taste of what it could be like having some kind of domesticity with this beautiful person, it’s pretty much been all he’s been able to think about. Having Colin sleep in his bed was amazing, not just the blow job followed by hand jobs in the shower that nearly made them late for school, the whole packing was what was amazing. Being able to curl around his lover, holding him close and snuggling under the duvet, then waking up with him still there was thrilling. Even watching Colin enthusiastically tuck into the pancakes, bacon and eggs Jensen made to indulge him was good, it made him feel content in a way he hadn’t in a long time.
With another deep sigh, he picks up his bag and travel mug and walks towards the school, a good six inches of snow on the ground, dampening the bottom of his trousers. He nearly slips on a patch of black ice but manages to catch his balance just in time before he and his belongings hit the floor.
Once he’s unlocked his classroom, switched on the lights, his laptop and set up as much as he can without the students and the sealed exam papers being here, he heads to the teacher’s lounge to start a pot of coffee since he’s almost finished the mug he brought with him. As the machine hisses and drips he takes his phone out of his pocket and taps the WhatsApp icon.
JA: Morning, sunshine, how’s my favourite student doing? Early start, busy day. Wanted to wish you luck for the exam today. I need you to concentrate on the paper, OK? You’ve worked hard, you can’t afford to be distracted. Neither of us can. :/
He’s no sooner refilled his mug and tightened the lid and Colin has replied.
Dobby: He’s thinking it’s way too early to be awake! Thanks, I’ll need it. There’s always this *really* hot guy in my English class & he’s much more interesting than any book or paper so no promises but I’ll *try* to concentrate. ;)
The older man can’t help the fond smile and eye roll at that and it makes his chest warm up a little in the chilly room. Damn weather was getting colder by the hour the past few days, his mood is bad enough without being grumpy from the cold!
JA: I mean it, you need to do your best on this exam. We *both* worked hard to keep your grade up even with...distractions! Detention for a month if you don’t do as you’re told!
Dobby: Surely detention is an incentive to misbehave in this case? ;)
JA: Ha freakin’ ha, you know what I mean.
What are you doing after school? I need to feel you in my arms again before I have to deal with shitty flights & family. I love ‘em and all but it’s another week without you :’( I also need to give you your present! :)
JA: P.S. wrap up, it’s fucking freezing out there & not so warm in school, either, think the heating is on the fritz!
He busies himself reading and replying to staff and parent’s emails, checking his flight details again and drinking more coffee until he hears footsteps out in the corridor, “Morning, Stan!” he calls out to the janitor who waves in acknowledgement before going about his business. It’s been a while since his last message to Colin and the teen hasn’t replied which is unusual when he clearly had the phone in his hand, or maybe you’re being paranoid and clingy, his tired brain supplies, or maybe he’s in the shower... and isn’t that a nice thought? He’s beginning to conjure up the image of a naked, wet and soapy Colin when the familiar notification tone sounds. He can’t even find it in him to be embarrassed at how relieved he is to get a reply and how quickly he grabs for his phone. Every minute he’s waiting for Colin these days feels like hours.
Dobby: Meant to be going Christmas shopping with Elle but I can blow it off until tomorrow, I’d rather see you... *Professor Snape voice* obviously! :P
Mom’s home around 8pm so there’s hours for you have your wicked way with me! ;)
Dobby: What’s the present? Don’t want yours to look shitty in comparison! Haha :P
Dobby: You’re suck a dork, it’s fucking *December* dude of course it’s cold! Your job is to UNdress me! xD
And WTF are you doing in school so early? :-/
Jensen can feel the grin spreading over his face and he feels a weight lifted off his chest knowing he’s going to get to spend time alone with the teen.
JA: Does it make me a bad person if I say *fuck yeah* blow her off because she sees you nearly every day & I don’t? Actually I really couldn’t give a shit if it does, tonight you’re MINE! xD
You’ll have to open it to find out. You didn’t have to get me anything, whatever it is I’ll love it because it’s from you! <3 (shut up, I know how sappy that sounds!)
JA: Couldn’t stand rattling around the house watching the clock, wanted to make sure I saw you today. Gotta leave for the airport straight away tomorrow. I should be home by 4pm today, staff aren’t on half days but I can’t see anyone wanting to hang around!
§
Colin’s shoving toast into his mouth and snacks into his backpack with the other hand when his mom shuffles into the kitchen, giving him a quizzical look.
“Why up so early, kiddo?” she mumbles and reaches for the freshly made pot of coffee.
“Uh, last minute studying before my English exam,” he lies around his mouthful of half chewed toast, “I don’t wanna let Jen...er, Mr. Ackles down, y’know?”
Kim took a large swallow of coffee and pulled him into a one armed hug, “You’re a good boy,” she says before kissing him on the cheek, “I’m sure you’ll do him and yourself proud, even more so when you’ve had more tutoring after the holidays. If you give me twenty minutes I can drive you in.”
The teen’s chest constricted at the thoughts their words brought - he really didn’t want to let Jensen down and he would work harder in January because they’d actually have time now the older man wasn’t doing the extra classes, so the time he’s spent pining can be used for something productive. The idea of more time together makes Colin feel giddy and he smiles brightly, “I’ll do my best. Nah, don’t worry, I’ll walk in,” he replies hugging her back before racing out of the house.
After a few slips and slides on the ice and snow outside he gets into school and is standing in the hall outside Jensen’s classroom for 7.15am. Although there are cars in the staff parking lot he’s yet to see anyone else, which he’s extremely grateful for because he doesn’t have a valid excuse - or a plausible lie - to explain why he’s here so early. He takes a few calming breaths of the warmer air inside then steps closer to the door.
Jensen is immersed in something on his laptop, frowning at the screen slightly, even as he takes a sip of his ever present coffee. He obviously hasn’t heard Colin enter so it gives the teen a little time to look his fill. The lamp on the desk is giving Jensen a glow, his long eyelashes, cheekbones and luscious lips perfectly enhanced. It takes Colin’s breath away just how gorgeous the man is on any day, but in the contrast of the dark outside and the bright lamp light he’s stunningly beautiful. When Jensen turns from the screen and does a double take, the teen realises he must have made some kind of noise.
“Hey,” the older man says, frown gone and replaced by a smile so genuine that it has to be returned, “what are you doing here so early?”
Colin walks towards the desk, pulling his thick gloves off and stuffing them in his pocket as he goes, “Extra study?” he offers, smiling more when Jensen rolls his eyes in a ‘you’re a crappy liar but I don’t care’ gesture, “I didn’t say what, or who I’d be studying!” he says in a low voice, followed by a wink.
“You’re crazy!” Jensen replies, his voice full of affection. The teen watches in confusion as the older man stands but walks away from him until he realises Jensen is going to close the only open blind in the classroom. Anyone outside could see right in, he understands, now. With a quick glance into the hall, Jensen gestures to the storeroom with his head and Colin wastes no time in heading back there. He loosens his thick scarf as his lover enters the room, immediately stepping close and cupping cold Colin’s cheeks in his warm hands, “Hey, baby boy,” he whispers, looking straight into his eyes before leaning down to place a kiss on Colin’s waiting lips.
Jensen is radiating warmth from his hands and mouth, and Colin moans into it, returning a soft kiss of his own before pulling away to brush a thumb tenderly over those sinful lips, “Hey to you, too!” Jensen lets go of his face in favour of pulling the teen’s body against him and wrapping him in a hug. Colin lets himself be drawn in, throwing his arms around Jensen’s back and holding on tight, relishing the comfort, the warmth and the familiarity of the scent of the older man’s musk combined with his cologne.
Jensen shifts his head slightly so he’s nosing at Colin’s neck, then kissing it, closed mouthed and affectionate but it still sends a spike of arousal through him. His lover must feel it because he laughs softly, and Colin’s feels his scarf being pulled away and then Jensen’s lips are peppering kisses up and down his neck, then behind his ear. A gentle scrape of teeth to his earlobe and the brush of a hot tongue make the teen shiver more and let out an involuntary moan. He brings one hand from where it’s been pressed flat against Jensen’s back and grips the front of the man’s sweater to pull him closer. He’s most disappointed when the older man loosens his grip and steps back, the teen can’t help but make a protesting noise. He clings to Jensen but the man takes a step further back.
“Nuh uh, not now, sweetheart,” he brushes a stray section of hair off Colin’s forehead and tucks it under the beanie the teen is wearing, “later, OK?” He’s giving Colin an apologetic smile, though, which the teen takes to mean that he’s craving the touch just as much as he is.
“Promise?” he knows he sounds needy but frankly he doesn’t care.
Jensen laughs out loud then flashes him a smile that makes his eyes crinkle in the way Colin loves, “I promise,” he leans in and kisses the teen twice more, soft and moist, “but you really have to go, now, come back when it’s appropriate!”
Colin snorts, then, straightening Jensen’s tie, “You, Mr. Ackles, don’t know the meaning of that word around me!” His stomach flip flops when Jensen’s face drops, “I-I’m sorry,” he stammers, “I didn’t mean…”
Jensen raises his hand to stop him saying any more then uses that hand to firmly grip the back of Colin’s neck. The older man looks straight at him, “No, you’re right,” he says, clearly conflicted and the teen feels a panic in his chest until Jensen speaks again, “I really don’t,” he pauses and seconds feel like minutes, “and honestly, I don’t think I ever want to be. If I’m gonna go to Hell, we’ll have fun gettin’ me there, right?”
He offers Jensen a nod and small smile, pleased to see his teacher returning it, squeezing a little harder on the back of Colin’s neck, “Fuck, yeah!”
Both of them laugh and it makes Colin forget all about how nervous he actually is for this damn exam!
Considering tomorrow is the last day of the semester Jensen thought the rest of the staff would be as desperate to get out of there as the students, but his estimate of getting home straight after school had been wishful thinking.
It’s a little after 6pm and he’s only just made been able to his excuses to leave the staff party he’d completely forgotten about. He’d read the email last week but his focus has been trying to see Colin so it slipped his mind. The time at the party dragged on while he was making polite conversation and avoiding Ms. Foster’s attempts to usher him under the mistletoe - evidently his suspicions of her having a crush on him had been on the money - and the later it was getting the more he was stressing about how little time he was now going to get with Colin. Finally insisting that he had to finish packing for his trip back home, he practically ran out of the building, texting on the way.
Colin had already sent him two messages - one saying he was going to the local coffee shop with Elle, then another saying he was heading home and to hurry the fuck up, but Jensen just hadn’t been able to reply until now.
JA: Fuck me, I thought I’d never get away! Are you home?
He scraped some ice off his truck, climbed in and started the engine, tapping out a frustrated rhythm on the steering wheel as he waited for the heat to kick in and clear the windscreen so he could see where he was going.
Dobby: Finally! Been home for hours, WTF have you been doing??? Can you come here?
Jensen felt a pang of guilt at the thought of Colin waiting for him, he’d just have to make it up to him as best he could. He was torn, should he arrange to accidentally on purpose run into Colin somewhere like the grocery store again, or take yet another risk?
JA: I’m really sorry, staff party completely slipped my mind. Is your Mom still at work?
Dobby: Yeah but not for long, her shift finishes in an hour or so.
“Shit,” Jensen curses, his breath only slightly visible inside the truck now, “fuck, here goes nothing!”
JA: We’ll have to take the chance, I’m on my way.
Snow flies up from his tyres as he peels out of the parking lot.
Colin paces the living room with his stomach doing nervous flip flopping motions. “What the fuck is the matter with you?” he mumbles to himself, rubbing his sweaty palms on his thighs. He looks up when headlights light up the dining room and he hears a car pull into the driveway. After what seems like eons, there’s a knock on the door and the teen jumps in spite of himself. He finally manages to get his limbs to cooperate with his brain when there’s another - and somewhat more impatient - knock on the door. He opens it and can’t help but chuckle when he takes in Jensen’s pitiful look. He laughs more at the confused expression on the man’s face, “Snowing, huh?” he asks, stepping off to the side to let his lover in.
Jensen stamps his feet, shaking the snow off his boots and onto the doormat before looking down at his coat which is covered in snow just from his walk up the driveway, “Ya think, smartass?” he grumps and Colin has to laugh more. Jensen takes off his hat and gloves, handing them to the teen as he unbuttons his coat and shakes as much snow as he can onto the mat but there’s so much of it, it falls onto the carpet as well, “Shit, sorry!”
“Don’t worry about it,” Colin replies, raising his hand to point at the coat hook behind Jensen, “hang it up there, the heat’s on high so it’ll dry at bit at least.” He leans over and drops the wet hat and gloves onto the hall table near the heater and as soon as Jensen turns back around he all but throws himself at the man, arms wrapping tight around his neck and legs around solid thighs, taking in his lover’s warmth and the feeling of firm muscle against him.
“Fuckin’ hell,” Jensen says, voice laboured under the full weight of a gangly teenager wrapped around him like an octopus, “Happy to see you, too!”
Colin reluctantly loosens his grip and leans back to look at Jensen’s face, happy to see a soft smile on his features, “Oh don’t feel special,” he teases, “this is how I greet everybody.”
Jensen raises an eyebrow, “Is that right?” his eyes are crinkled in amusement, “And how about this?” he says just before leaning in to capture Colin’s lips. They’re cold and chapped from the weather but the contrast against his own hot ones makes the teen moan, pushing his tongue into Jensen’s waiting mouth. The vibration of the satisfied noises they’re both making send a tingle through Colin’s lips and he feels like he could keep doing this until his mouth was numb, but they’re still standing in the hall and he has other plans.
“Oh,” he drops himself to the ground, quickly, then bops his finger on the end of Jensen’s nose, “that’s definitely all for you!” he takes Jensen’s hand and pulls, “C’mon, we don’t have much time,” he says, wondering why his teacher isn’t moving until he stoops to pick up his bag from the floor.
“I should think so, ya cheeky little shit” the older man replies, trying not to look smug. He raises the bag, “otherwise I’d have to send your present back to Santa.”
Colin rolls his eyes and turns towards the living room, pulling Jensen along with him. He waits until the bag is set down next to the coffee table then puts both hands on the man’s shoulders and without preamble he shoves him towards the sofa. Jensen lets out a surprised sound but rights himself in time to land on the cushions instead of the sofa arm, then lets out another surprised noise when Colin climbs straight into his lap, straddling him, “Shut up, you love it!”
Jensen nods and his hands go straight to Colin’s ass, causing the teen to moan at the feel of strong fingers gently squeezing his flesh. He rolls his hips, pressing his hardening cock against Jensen’s body through his shirt and sweater, groaning at the not enough pressure. He lowers his head, a satisfied smirk on his face as he see dilated pupils in those beautiful green eyes. Colin feels one of Jensen’s hands leave his ass cheek, fingers travelling up his back, shoulders and neck until they slip into his hair. They stare at each other for a few heartbeats before Jensen tightens his grip and pulls Colin’s head back enough to cause a tingle of pain in his scalp, but not enough that they lose eye contact. Heat floods Colin’s chest and he feels the twitch of his cock becoming fully hard in the confines of his jeans.
“You shut up,” Jensen growls, leaning forward to suck on Colin’s pulse point, his lips now hot against young skin and it sends a shiver down the teen’s spine, “ought to put you on the naughty list, no presents ever again...”
The teen opens his mouth to reply but before he can form words Jensen tugs his head further back, scraping teeth over the teen’s Adam’s apple and the only sound Colin can make is a strangled moan. He fumbles to find Jensen’s shoulders and uses the leverage to grind down again, this time feeling that Jensen’s hard, now, and it sends another wave of arousal through his slim body.
“Shit, Jensen,” he manages to pant, “please…”
“Please, what?” Jensen replies, his voice low and husky, “Tell me what you want, baby boy.”
The older man slowly loosens his grip on Colin’s hair and the teen moves forward to press messy kisses to Jensen’s throat while he tries to find the words to explain what he wants. There’s so much running through his head he doesn’t know where to start. The room is quiet except for their breathing, until a thud makes them both jump.
“Colin, honey,” his mom shouts from the hall, “I’m home.”

§
