FEDEMAC is the “umbrella” Association of the European moving industry
FEDEMAC is overseen by a General Assembly, that has full authority over the affairs of the organization. The General Assembly is made up of representatives of the FEDEMAC Members (Member Associations and Direct Affiliated Member Companies). The General Assembly meets at least once a year in Europe to review the actions taken and to discuss and decide on the future policy and actions of FEDEMAC.
The Board is the executive body of FEDEMAC. The work of the FEDEMAC Board is supported by FEDEMAC Headquarters.

Bertil Durieux – President, Belgium
Born in Brussels, capital of Europe, Bertil Durieux has been involved in the moving industry for more than 35 years. He has been working in Belgium, Luxembourg and United Kingdom. In 2011, Bertil completed a successful management buyout of the company GENNÉ, that has been managed by him since February 2000.
On November 16th, 2018, Bertil Durieux was elected as FEDEMAC`s President for a three years term, from 2018 to 2021.
A passionate defender of the profession, his main objective is to find the best means to encourage all participants of the industry to differentiate themselves by applying the best quality performance on each and every move. President of the Belgian National Association (CBD-BKV) since 2017, he decided to put his company in new hands and dedicated himself to his National Association.
On May 3, 2023 in the General Assembly meeting in Tallinn, Estonia he was re-elected as FEDEMAC PRESIDENT for a further three-year term.

Giulio Argirò – Vice President/Board Member, Italy
Giulio is 43 years young man – born and raised in Rome, Italy. He is an Attorney at Law admitted to the Bar Association of Rome -currently specializes in Immigration and Transport Law.
Giulio is also the co-owner of the Bliss Moving & Logistics, who grew up in the moving industry since his family had been part of it since mid-seventies.
At Bliss, Giulio leads the legal office for the group’s companies, judicial litigation, out-of-court, and the Claims department. As of January 2019, he is the General Manager for the Relocation and Immigration department at the Bliss Corporation.
Giulio has been a Board Member of the Italian Member Association, A.I.T.I., since May 2014.
The FEDEMAC General Assembly elected Giulio to become a FEDEMAC Board Member in November 2017 and FEDEMAC representative for AITI.In May 2023 Giulio was appointed as FEDEMAC Vice President.
Proactivity, problem-solving ability with great initiative, professionalism and constant communication with parties are among his most distinguishing characteristics.

Mark Carey – Board Member
Mark Carey is the Managing Director of Careline Moving & Storage, a major relocation and logistics provider based in Ireland and the UK.
An alumnus of St. Munchin’s College and the Irish Management Institute, Mark combines decades of industry heritage with a modern, data-driven approach to operations management.
Under his leadership, Careline has expanded its footprint across Ireland and the UK, continuing a legacy of excellence that dates back to the late 19th century.”
Mark is a key leader in the Global relocation and logistics industry, focusing on operational excellence and growth.
He was elected to the Fedemac Board in April 2026

Dana Dascalu – Treasurer/Board Member, Romania
Growing up within the moving industry background, being a mover has been the only profession Dana Dascalu known since 2001. With a master degree in business and economics, at a young age she has established the family company CDD Relocation, who joined FEDEMAC since the beginning.
Oriented in growing and evolving, by constantly adding value to the services offered to the clients while pursuing a personal development, DD has been elected as Board member and Treasurer of FEDEMAC in 2023.

Andreas Eichinger – Board Member
Andreas is Director General of AMÖ – the German Federal Association of Furniture Forwarding and Logistics. AMÖ is the largest association of removers in Europe. He has held the role since 2021, leading the association through a period of significant industry transformation.
A trained economist, Andreas has built his career across research, public affairs, transport and logistics. Before joining AMÖ, he held positions in public transport, management consulting, and lobbying, as well as several senior roles at Frankfurt Airport. He has also served on supervisory boards and as a Non-Executive Director of an industry body representing airlines, airports, and air navigation service providers.
Regulatory pressure, the shift to low- or zero-emission vehicles, digitalisation and shifting labour markets are reshaping the sector. Andreas has made transformation a strategic priority – modernising AMÖ’s offer to members and ensuring the industry leads change rather than follows it. His approach rests on a firm conviction: that collective action through a strong association is the most effective tool members have. And that it only works if the sector’s voice is heard where decisions are made – in Berlin and in Brussels.
Since March 2025, Andreas has served on the FEDEMAC Board where he leads the FEDEMAC Lobbying Team.

Esa Niemi – Board Member
Esa Niemi is the main owner of the Finland’s leading moving and logistics company Niemi Services Ltd and has been in the industry since he was a schoolboy. Niemi has nine offices in Finland and approximately 1000 well-trained employees. In addition to the company’s international operations, Esa serves as the president of FIDI ADA, on the Finnish Transport and Logistics Committee and as a new member of the Fedemac board from 2026. In addition to these, Esa serves also as the president of the Finnish Judo Federation and on various committees of the European Judo Union and the International Judo Federation. He is also a black belt judoka and has been as a judo teacher for over 30 years.

Maria del Mar Serrano – Board Member
Maria del Mar Serrano took over her family’s moving company at 22 after her father’s passing. Originally trained in Tourism and starting a hospitality career in England, she returned to Barcelona to lead the business. She had to quickly learn operational tasks like packing, handling lifts, and estimating volumes, while managing strategy and payroll. A key decision was downsizing the company to better understand and control operations.
Another milestone was her husband Iván García joining the company 12 years ago.
The company has been a member of FEDEM since its founding. Its involvement grew when Iván became President of FEDEM Catalonia.
Mar now represents FEDEM on the FEDEMAC Board.
She aims to professionalize the removals industry and combat unfair competition. In her free time, she enjoys mountain walks, reading, yoga, and family travel.
The FEDEMAC Board meets three or four times a year when it considers . It takes into decisions and actions in response to the recommendations of the General Assembly. The Board is focused on political and economic developments on a European level which could impact the moving industry. The Board will then decide upon any actions to be taken to protect the interests of the industry.
In between the scheduled Board Meetings FEDEMAC holds regular telephone conferences to work on special topics and initiatives and establishes working and study groups to focus on specific subjects. The members of the working and study groups are chosen from the list of FEDEMAC representatives and may include any person with particular expertise relevant to the project or helpful to the work involved.
