WHY HEALTHCARE

From the moment someone is born, their health – their emotional, physical, and mental being – is tied to a set of determinants outside of their control. Housing, socioeconomic factors, genetics, community, race and ethnicity, physical environment. What if we could help someone take back their health? That is why I do this.

WHY HEALTHCARE

Good health is something that we take for granted. It is only when we, or someone we care about, is ill or injured that we realize just how powerless we can be. Working in an industry that truly drives innovation in healthcare helps us give that power back to patients, providers, and families.

Our Mission

Frist Cressey Ventures is a venture capital firm on a mission to transform healthcare and improve lives. We partner with like-minded individuals who share our core values and invest in innovative solutions that improve quality of care, system integration, patient outcomes and population health and well-being.

Our Story

On a business trip in 2015, Senator Bill Frist, MD and longtime friend and business partner Bryan Cressey found themselves at the end of a long and assiduous journey, one that had a simple yet lofty goal: enabling healthcare innovation in a way that positively impacts patient outcomes.

At Woodshed Smokehouse in Fort Worth, TX, they concluded the biggest drivers for creating lasting and life-altering change are the innovative enterprises rethinking how the world works. Even though both have been at the epicenter of healthcare’s greatest policy initiatives, corporations and academic institutions, they routinely found inspiration and exciting disruption in the cutting-edge, high-growth businesses that came across their desks. It became clear that investing in these nimble, imaginative ventures created the best opportunity for achieving their goal. As a result, Frist Cressey Ventures came into being and to this day continues to drive passion, expertise and unique value to the tenacious enterprises improving healthcare now and in the future.
