He served 12 years in the U.S. Senate, 4 years as Senate Majority Leader, and is today a leading global authority on healthcare. As co-founder and Managing Partner at FCV, he resides on the fund’s Investment Committee and is responsible for acquisitions, divestitures, and providing unique value to the fund’s portfolio companies.

Mark Tipps
Mark Tipps joined FCV in 2023 and serves as Partner and COO. He was a practicing corporate trial lawyer for 30 years with Bass, Berry & Sims and Walker, Tipps & Malone. Previously, he served as Senator Frist’s first chief of staff in Washington, D.C., helping the Senator build and manage his Washington team. Later, he served as deputy chief counsel to U.S. Senator Fred Thompson in the Senate’s investigation of foreign money that flowed into the 1996 Presidential campaign, and he was also national campaign manager for former TN Governor Lamar Alexander’s 2000 presidential bid.
